Leave

(Inspired by Sam Smith's Leave Your Lover)

Leave your worries behind,
Leave everything that hurts you,
Hold me every time I hurt,
While I pick up the pieces you drop when you fall.
Leave the past behind,
Leave your lover for me,
And I'll leave everything for you,
Yet you never leave,
You still call out another name,
Time and time again.
I wait to hear my name across your lips,
My name across your heart,
Imprinted like the night on a raven,
And my heart soars every time.
Leave,
Leave me,
Leave your feelings,
Leave your conscience at the door.
Every moment I'm closer,
Yet the clock still strikes midnight,
And time runs out,
Only to be turned back the next day.
Inside though,
There's an internal timer,
Ticking away,
Close to the final hour,
So I leave it.
