Diamonds

Inspired by "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" And by Marilyn Monroe

They shimmer on her neck,

Symbols of success,

Reminders of some failures.

They comfort her when there is no one.

Their shine breaks through her dark cloud,

Showing her a world of brilliance.

They become her best friends

They don't fill her heart,

They coat her heart,

Much like bejeweled jeans.

Her heart is made of one of the most precious jewels on earth,

Hardening as she comes in contact with pressure and anxiety.

She is apart of the diamonds now.

Her smile as valuable as a million dollar ring,

Her laugh as revered as the Crown Jewels,

And her voice as bright as new necklace.

Her ruby red lipstick was the kiss of a rose,

With diamond encrusted thorns,

On a stem of fame.

She is seen as vain,

But she creates vanity,

She's not a victim of it.

Her gowns and dresses are the compliments of vanity,

Worn like a badge of honor,

She threw away her old self to create a vessel of pure attraction,

The original blonde bombshell.

At the end she was given the bill,

The price was too high,

And it cost her more than her past,

It also cost her,

Her future.
