"Are you going to accompany your mother shopping?" asked Nate as she set a cup of coffee on the table then sat down next to Julian.

"Uh-huh. She's getting ready," replied Julian, who was reading something from his smartphone. Nate stared at him.

"Your hair's getting longer," said Nate, brushing the front part of Julian's hair that was covering his eyes. The back of his hair had also touched his collar.

Julian brushed Nate's hand away. "I don't have time to cut my hair," he said without taking his eyes off his phone.

Nate scowled at him. Julian always grew his hair since he was young. Even when he returned from overseas, he met Nate's parents with shoulder-length hair, and only had it cut the day before their wedding. Nate often told him that she did like men with long hair, but she preferred him with short hair. She also asked him a lot to cut his hair if it covers his forehead. However, he didn't really care about her request, and would only cut his hair when he feels like it.

"Shall we go now?" Tara came out with her handbag. Julian immediately looked up.

"Okay." Julian reached over to give Nate a peck on her lips. "I'm off." He got up and followed his mother to his Range Rover.

Nate sighed and brought back the untouched coffee. Sometimes she tired of Julian's inconsistent mood.

Nate actually cried in front of Mum, and asked her not to marry her off to Julian. Despite his handsome face, he's scary to Nate. With his piercing eyes, thick eyebrows, and stone-faced, she felt that Julian was more like the antagonist on television. Especially since he never greeted her or chatted with her every time he came to visit her parents.

However, after proposing to Nate, Julian texted and called her most of time, even if only to ask if she had eaten. Then, few days before their wedding day, he kept calling her for hours, so she couldn't help but feel moved. There's nothing wrong with falling in love with your future husband, right?

Julian was so sweet, even after they got married. He didn't mind if they stayed at Nate's parents' and allowed her to keep working. The thing that made her finally agree to the marriage was after she heard that he was willing to gave up his career in Japan just for her.

Actually, Julian's family was quite well off, his parents own a big company. However, he did not take advantage of his parents' connections, and chose to work elsewhere. Then, when he was offered a job with a quite high salary, he chose to return to UK instead, and accepted a much lower salary job so he could stay close to Nate.

Romantic? Nate used to think so. However, on second thought, Julian could have accepted the job anyway, and brought her to live with him in Japan. That was if he did intended to propose to her in the first place, like he claimed. Nate didn't really mind, Julian could work wherever he wanted.

Nate slowly opened her heart to Julian. Since they didn't go through the stages of dating like a normal couple, she enjoyed every thrill that he gave her through his much sweeter, and warmer behaviour than before. She thought that's only the best part of this marriage.

Nate helped Mum clean out the sitting room and kitchen for tomorrow's housewarming party. This was indeed a small party, they only invited family and close relatives. They also ordered catering from one of Mum's friends so they don't have to bother with cooking.

Nate stood in front of the fan in the master bedroom after separating the rubbish. The weather was so hot today and the air conditioner would only come next week. She looked out the window when she saw Julian's car pulling into the drive. After a while, she got hugged from behind.

"I'm sweating," said Nate. She glanced at the mirror nearby and saw the open bedroom door behind her. Julian didn't like to show affection like this in front of other people, but he always acts all sweet when their parents were around.
