(I hate Bryce so don't take this part wrong)
No one knew about Bryce being a rapist before the tapes...and some still didn't believe Hannah
That being said if your character isn't on the tapes or hasn't heard them yet they can't just hate Bryce. From other points of view he was a decent guy
Monty, Zach, Justin etc. they can't all just start hating Bryce out of no where. Monty had no clue until Justin accused Bryce. The other guys were Bryces friend and thought he was cool
Bryce is a terrible human being I hate him but no one hated him until after they knew so don't make them all hate him from Day 1

Hannah Bakers sister
A plot but if the Sister is alive (duh) she has to have had some affect on Hannah don't make her an absentee sibling (unless you write it well) The sibling must have known more than their parents

Your character can be perfect in this
Everyone did at least something a little wrong this show (expect Jeff my bby) but everyone did something wrong
Your character shouldn't be perfect. Make him/her and realistic! They can be an asshole or bitter, or whatever the hell you want but they are teenagers and will make mistakes
