I'm talking your main character can have friends that don't come with the movie/show/book
Riverdale: OC can have friends that you create not people we know
The 100: create another delinquent or grounded
Teen Wolf: their social group can be random people
Your OC does not have to be friends with people who are already there!!!

Im mostly talking a high school situation
But anyways
Your OC shows up to class blah blah they are going to hang out with people we all know but let them know other people (OCs)
Ex. Riverdale
Blah Blah walks into class making her way to Jughead and Archie on her way she passes Bob and asks him about the math homework.

During class Blah Blahs pencil breaks and she leans back to Satan and asks him for a pencil.
I mean hey those are pretty dry I know
But even if they don't have OC friends they know people right?
