"MOM!!" I said staring at the woman I hated so much.

She was wearing a tight pencil skirt with a flowy blouse.

What was she doing here at the park at this time of day?

"Oh. Annalisa." She said with the most disappointment in her voice. As if she was expecting another child in the girls' bathroom to look at her and shout mom.

"What are you doing here.?" I asked my voice still laced with disbelief.

She had yet to actually look at me.

I hadn't seen her in 1 year. The least she could do was look at me, not that I was expecting that either.

She looked more sophisticated than the last time I saw her. Must be another guy in her life.

"Its none of your business girl." She said with annoyance laced in her voice.

I looked down and continued to wash my hands.

Over the years I learned that upsetting her would only make things worse.

"Where is dad?" I asked timidly.

I don't know why but I always get scared around her, even when I am trying to be brave.

"Oh, you stupid girl. He left me, and it is all because of you." She said walking towards me.

"Don't think I forgot all of the problems you caused." She said looking down at me.

I had arrived at my destination on the wall.

"But i-its not my fault you are an at-terrible mother," I said gaining a little confidence towards the end.

Wow. I am actually soo dumb. Why would I say that?

I instantly felt a stinging sensation on my cheek.

I restrained myself from yelling to keep from drawing attention.

I was used to this she would always hit me when I said something she didn't like but was true.

"Don't test my limits, you're lucky we are in public right now." She said.

I held my check silently crying this was only the surface of what she has done to me.

Whenever my brothers aren't around she would kick me, punch me, hold me underwater, lock me in closets and cut me.

It got so bad one time where I was in a coma for 5 months.

My brothers only know one of the things she did to me, but not all and I don't think I will ever tell them.

"Lisa what is taking you soo long. Do I need to come in?" I heard Dylan from outside.

I so badly wanted him to come inside, but I knew I would get punished for that.

They didn't know she was here.

"No everything's alright, just slipped. You don't need to come in." I said hoping he wouldn't for both of our sakes mainly mines.

My 'mother' smiled at me. A fake smile of course.

"Good girl, now don't tell any of your brothers, and you will be fine."
She said with a smirk.

I finally left the bathroom.

"Finally what took you so long you could have told me you had to go number 2." He said laughing, but immediately stopped when he saw the forming bruise on my cheek.

"Hey what happened to your face?" He asked bending down to my height and inspecting it.

"Remember I told you I slipped? Yeah, I slipped, and um hit my face, yeah my face." I said not really sounding convinced.
