Ten's POV

"Hey Ten, what are you doing?"

I tear my gaze away from the cat in the window and see Yangyang standing in my doorway, looking at me with a slightly confused expression. Which is fair, because he just walked in on me staring out my window, as if contemplating all of my life decisions.

"Uh, just looking at the scenery with Louis and Leon, I guess," I respond with a laugh.

Yangyang approaches the window. "What do you mean, scenery? There's like one courtyard and that's about i-" He spots the black and white cat in the window, then nods in understanding. "Oh, I see now. You should talk to the cat."

I look at him in confusion, beginning to question his imagination even more than I already do. "What do you mean, 'talk to the cat'?"

"I mean, well, talk to the cat. Or its owner, at least. See, there's a person right there-"

I immediately grab Yangyang's arm and pull him down to the floor. "Ow! What was that for?" he asks, rubbing his arm.

"We can't let her see us," I explain. "In case this break has made you forget, we're kind of idols. What if the person was a crazy sasaeng about to leak our address to the whole world?"

"Oh. Oops, I forgot about that. Honestly, if she were really a sasaeng, she would probably do it anyways, because it isn't every day you see two cats that look suspiciously similar to Louis and Leon sitting in a window," Yangyang reasons.

I nod in agreement. "That's true. Although, we probably shouldn't assume that, I'm just taking precautions, you know?"

Honestly, though, the girl looks pretty chill, not the type of person to invade someone's privacy. Probably a college student or something. And, you can call me weird, but when I see someone who likes animals, I automatically trust them.

And this girl has an adorable cat who also seems quite friendly. I still won't expose my identity or anything to her, though. Partially because there's still a small chance that she's an NCTzen and might leak our information, but mostly because if the company finds out I'm trusting random strangers like this, they'll be quite upset with me.

"Yeah. Anyways, what do you think about talking to the cat on behalf of Louis and Leon? You know, taping a sign up to your window or something?" he asks.

I consider this for a moment. It's not like it's risky or anything, right? We can do what he suggested without showing ourselves at all. And it's just funny to do something like this.

"Well, I mean, it would be pretty comedic, I guess. Sure, I'm bored right now, let's annoy the neighbor with our humor," I laugh, hoping that she isn't going to be bothered by our idea of entertainment.

Yangyang jumps up. "First of all, our humor is not annoying, and second of all, yay, let's do it!"

I nod, taking a piece of paper from my desk, along with a thick black marker. "Uh, what are we supposed to write? Meow?"

"Yes, Meow," Yangyang agrees. As I'm writing it in large capital letters, he remarks, "This is a lot of fun, impersonating Louis and Leon. Or, well, not impersonating them, just pretending to be them."

"Agreed. I wonder how she's going to react," I laugh. If she doesn't understand our humor, then too bad. If she does, maybe we'll have a funny conversation or something, who knows.

Yangyang glances up at the window, then exclaims, "She's leaving! Let's tape it up before she gets back."

I rip a piece of tape and gently push Louis and Leon to the side so I can attach it to the screen, then duck down again.

For a minute or so, nothing happens. Then the girl returns and stares at our screen for a moment. Oh, she's seen the sign. Now the question is, will she understand our humor, or will she judge us and think we're weirdos?

She disappears for another minute or so, and when she comes back, there's a piece of paper in her hands that she's taping onto her window screen. I squint to read the letters, letting out a laugh once I read them.

Meow?

This is going to be interesting.
