"Oh my gosh! They're gonna kill me." I exclaimed while stuffing my mouth with ice cream

"They're gonna suffocate me in guilt!" I squealed

I tried to finish my ice cream quickly until I got a brain freeze.

A brain freeze at this time?!

"Ahhh" I hissed quietly while massaging my temples.

After it passed I took my last bite and looked up at River.

He was looking at me emotionless but you could see the amusement in his eyes.

"What? We have to go! My brothers are gonna kill me when I get home." I whispered and yelled.

I think everyone was looking at us because I kept screaming.

Oops.

I grabbed my empty ice cream cup and threw it in the trash.

"Come on River." I pouted.

He smiled a bit while looking at his watch.

"Angel, it's only 8 pm." He explained.

Trying to ignore he just called me Angel I furred my brows and looked at my phone.

"Yeah, it's 8 pm! Don't you get it, they're gonna kill me," I whined.

"Okay fine let's get you home," River said while getting his ice cream and finishing it within seconds.

I snatched his cup and threw it in the recycling bin.

With a short drive to my house well to the gate of my house, I didn't want my brothers to see River drop me off.

"Thank you for today." I started while unbuckling my seatbelt.

"It was fun," I said while he just stared at me.

I have a shy smile and gave him a quick hug but his body went tense and didn't respond the way I thought it would.

"Okay well, see you soon" I gave him a slight smile and hopped out of the car.

Just as I was about to reach the gate someone called my name.

"Taliah." River said.

I turned around with red cheeks, was he about to say I should have hugged him? Will he not want to be friends anymore? Am I being too clingy?

"Jacket." That was all he said.

I was confused at first but quickly remembered he lent me his jacket so I wouldn't get cold.

I slipped it off my arms and gave it back to him.

I waved shyly and quickly ran to the gate in embarrassment.
