Dhriti

The car suddenly braked and came to a stop.

"WHAT THE HELL" I yelled at the driver.

With a shivering voice driver said, "Mam.... in front of our car .... he is here ...."
"Who ?" I asked him and I looked outside through the window.

The man sat perched on the gleaming white bonnet of his car, his eyes scanning the horizon, waiting for my arrival. As I pulled up beside him, my heart racing, I couldn't help but notice the sheen of the car's paint in the bright sun. Despite my nervousness, I stepped out of my car with purpose, my eyes locked onto his figure.

"What the hell are you doing, Mr.Aarush Malhotra?"I asked.

"I want to ask the same question Dhriti, What the hell are you doing?" He asked me in a stern tone.

"What did I do? "I asked him.

" You don't know what you are doing, okay no problem I will explain," He said.

"I don't have a single moment to spare for your explanation. Would you please move aside from my way?" I said, trying to contain my impatience.
But he stood there, gazing at me with a small smirk on his face, and said, "Dhriti Krishna, you have to listen to me. I will never move aside from your way." His eyes were piercing, and his voice was firm, leaving no room for me to ignore him.

With a fierce look in my eyes, I directed my words at Aarush. "No one has the power to block my way," I declared, my voice laced with anger and determination. "Do you understand?"

As soon as I heard his voice, my heart skipped a beat. "Yes, I know Dhriti Krishna," he said, his tone betraying a hint of curiosity. "But now you're trying to escape from the situation, aren't you?" My mind raced as I tried to think of how he could have possibly found out about my plans to travel to London. Despite my shock, I forced myself to maintain a calm exterior and kept my emotions in check.

"I refuse to ask for permission to go anywhere, particularly from someone like you who is only a business partner," I stated firmly. "My movements are my own and I am not accountable to anyone for them."

"Business partner? I'm just a business partner for you?" He furrowed his brows and spoke through gritted teeth, his voice dripping with anger as he demanded an answer from me.

I spoke in a calm and collected tone, "Yes, you are merely a business partner to me." There was an eerie silence that followed my words. I could sense his confusion and concern as he asked in his deep, resonant voice, "Do you have any idea what you're saying, Dhriti? What happened to you? Why are you behaving like this?" His words were filled with genuine worry and I couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt for my callous behavior.

"I'm completely fine, there's nothing new in my behaviour. I always act this way. Please move out of my way, I'm running late for my flight and I need to..." He interrupted me before I could finish my sentence.

"You're not going anywhere. If you go, what about me and our relationship?" he said in a stern voice.

"I must clarify that we are only business partners and there is nothing more between us. My behaviour towards you may have been friendly, but that does not mean I am in love with you. Let me make it clear, Mr Aarush Malhotra, that my actions were solely for business purposes and nothing else. I have never loved you, nor can I ever love someone like you. Also, I want to make it clear that you cannot stop me from leaving." I said, I know that I am hurting his feelings but there is no way Aarush, please forgive me if you can.

Suddenly, he clapped his hands and laughed out loud, leaving me confused. I asked him "Why are you laughing?"

But he abruptly stopped and grabbed my shoulders, pinning me against the car. He then asked, "So, you're saying that you used me for business, right?"

There is no way Aarush I have to make you hate me, you have to hate me, we can't be together. Out of the way I accepted. "Yes, I used you for my business. " I said and pulled him.

As soon as I offered an answer, his demeanour changed. His voice grew louder and more forceful.

"What a white lie, Dhriti. You used me for your business. The Dhriti I know would never play with others' feelings, especially for business."I am astonished by how quickly he was able to gain a deep understanding of my character and personality traits.

"I apologize, Mr. Aarush Malhotra, but I must assert that your familiarity with Dhriti Krishna is lacking. I am committed to doing everything in my power to ensure the profitability of my business. For me, the success of the business takes precedence over human emotions. I trust that this perspective is clear to you. As such, I regret to inform you that this shall be our final meeting. I extend my best wishes to you, Mr. Aarush Malhotra, for your future endeavours."

As I was about to enter the car, he spoke in a solemn tone, "If you choose to leave now, I will interpret it as a sign of you having feelings for me. It would mean that you are trying to evade your emotions and avoid confronting me. This is how I will perceive your departure. Upon hearing this, I turned around and confidently declared, "You can think whatever you like, but let me make one thing crystal clear - I am not running away from you or my emotions. Instead, I am going to focus on developing my business."

"I agree that you have no feelings for me, but you must do one thing," he said sternly.
