"Anything that makes you miss your salah, even a single one, is not worth your attention."

_____

Heartbreaks were many but this one crossed the limits in itself. Some heart breaks are because our loved ones hurt us; some are because our loved ones did not acknowledge us; some because we've been proved guilty of something we did not commit but the most extreme of all is when we love someone the most and then acknowledge our own self going down in their eyes step by step and we see our self taking the elevator towards the ground floor when the success lies on the top most floor.

She did not know what heartbreak was until she missed her salah. She'd been always careful with her salahs and to offer them at their best time but it was the second time after her nikah, she had missed her fajr salah. She could do nothing but watch herself going down in the eyes of her creator, may be because marriage brings responsibilities, and responsibilities makes a man more busy with his life and busy life makes a man neglect some or their important aspects of life. But she had never thought that her marriage would result in this, she'd been waiting for this day because she wanted to elevate her iman through her marriage. It was nothing but deep sorrow because her iman level was going down, she was aware of it but could do nothing except to be in guilt. There wasn't anything that she had loved more than her Khaliq (creator) and now she was loosing the opportunities to do deeds for the most beloved one.

"Rida, what's the time?" Rehan croaked from the bed in a heavy voice making Rida wipe her tears and move towards the bed.

"It's seven twenty." Replied Rida and Rehan jerked up from his cozy bed.

"Today I've to go for work." Rehan scratched his head in annoyance.

"Get up, have a shower and then offer salah. Till then i'll make some breakfast." Said Rida and turned away to walk out of the room.

"Okay Ma'am. But why do I see my Queen's mood a bit nasty." Said Rehan as he caught her hand and made her sit beside him.

"It's already late. Let me go." Rida clenched her teeth as she asked her to let go, to which Rehan rolled his eyes. Girls and their mood swings.

"Will you go offer salah? Or it will not be counted."

Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen, 1/322.
But if a person misses a prayer for a valid excuse such as sleeping or forgetting, his expiation is to offer the prayer when he remembers it, and there is no other expiation required, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever forgets a prayer or sleeps and misses it, let him pray it when he remembers, and there is no other expiation for it but that." Al-Bukhaari, 572; Muslim, 1564.

"But tell me first what happened." Rehan insisted.

"How can a believer be at peace when he has missed his Salah knowing that the first command after Tawheed is to offer your obligatory prayers? How can he be in tranquility when he knows the first thing to be questioned on the day of resurrection will be about his Salah?" Rida blurted out.

"Hey that's okay. It does happen sometimes in life. We are not angels who would never do mistakes which even wasn't even a deliberate sin. We are humans and it is normal to sometimes miss our fajr salah due to heavy sleepiness. Our rabb is most forgiving and he will never reject our apology." Rehan said and Rida hummed along but her heart wasn't content. She wasn't okay with idea of missing her salah. What looked normal for other people wasn't normal with her. May be she was over thinking. Dismissing her thoughts she pushed Rehan to take a shower heading towards the kitchen
