This is loosley based off of the book 'Kittens and Cupcakes,' by @Born2beSad .
In this au, there are 'Hybrids', or half human- half animals.
In this version, there are things called 'Shifters'
These are particular hybrids with the right genes to be able to shift between their 'human body' (which still has ears and a tail) and their 'animal' body.
There are still hybrids who can't shift, and they're reffered to as 'non-shifters'.
