chapter 4 - Fluffy puppy

We go around and buy him multiple outfits.

One back home though, we collapse on to the couch.

"Agust..." He sighs.

"Yeah?"

"Thank you. I'll pay you back soon."

I scoff.

"No, you're not. I did this for you. Besides, you don't have a job. Where are you going to get money?"

He sits up from his slumped position on the couch.

"Agust! I need a job! So I can help you with bills and stuff!"

I wave him off.

"No, it's fine."

He pouts and flops back.

I turn the t.v on.

"Are you my owner?" He asks after a while.

I splutter, coughing.

"Wh-what? No!"

He looks at me, eyes sad again.

"Chan! You know what I mean. Do I enjoy your company? Yes. Do I want you to stay here and live with me? Yes. Do I want to take care of you and be with you? Of course! Do I want you to be my property, not worthy of even going anywhere alone? No. Do I want to have to pay for you so we can be together? No! How come I can go see woojin hyung whenever but if I want to go hang out with a hybrid, I have to go to a shelter and pay for a membership? Huh?"

I'm flushed and panting after that.

Chan looks taken aback.

"I've... Never thought of it that way."

I don't say anything, but open my arms for a hug.

He leans into me, though he's a whole head taller than me.

"But you do want me, right?"

"You know, it's only been a day since I've known you, but yeah. I do want you."

I lay in bed, and he is right behind me, his tail wagging hard.

"Can we cuddle?" He asks, bouncing around.

I blush, but give a small nod.

He grins, goofy again and pulls me against him.

He runs his fingers through my hair, gently.

"I like the way you smell." He mumbles, resting his cheek on my forehead.

I don't respond, putting my own arm over his waist.
