steve and y/n; the randle siblings, had know the curtis gang since they were very young. steve was older than y/n by nine months and he was a very protective older brother.

one night y/n had gone out with dally, curly, and tim for a few drinks at bucks.

y/n's father had been acting like a prick and she wanted to get drunk. when she got drunk she was honest had no filter even if it didn't make sense it was the truth in her head. for example, "unicorns are so cool, if i was a unicorn i'd poke steve with my horn." yes, she had said that when she was fifteen and stumbled drunkly into the curtis house. don't give her bourbon thats what gets her drunk real fast.

curly had ditched with tim for a fight outside and dallas went and hooked up with some girl, y/n stumbled outside walking down to the pay phone. she rang the only number she knew off by heart, sodapops aka the curtis house.

sodapop answered the phone, "hello?" he asked.

y/n wasn't exactly thinking straight, "helloooooooo!!" she slurred, damn those seven whiskeys really got to her.

sodapop furrowed his brows, "y/n, is that you? are you okay?" he said concerned.

"hi soda! its me!" she said, who knows why she had even called.

soda sighed, "where are you?" he asked sighing.

she hiccuped, "bucky boys!" she spoke gleefully.

bucky boys?! how much did she drink? he thought to himself.

"wait there, i'm coming to get you." he said hanging up the phone putting on a jacket and jogging to bucks, drunk y/n also had a tendency to pick fights and win them and of course being put in the cooler on occasion. he soon spotted the pleated skirt and elvised shirt covered girl. she smiled at him running over in mary janes, well not exactly running more so stumbling.

when she reached him she fell into his arms hugging him, "sodaaaaaaaa." she said clinging onto him. h

e picked her up holding her, "y/nnnnnnnnn." he replied back. she slowly stood back up, the left side of her face was purple and bruised and her eyes bloodshot.

he grabbed her face gently examining it. "what happened?" he said.

"pops bashed my face on the bench." she said still giggling because of her intoxicated brain couldn't think of much else to do either giggle, cry, or admit her love for this boy.

his cheeks were red from running, hair un greased because he had just showered, blue eyes filled with worry and mouth agape as he held her face.

she booped his nose, "can i go sleep now. i'm tired." she said leaning into him, he squatted down his body in piggy back position, "hop on." she hopped on, trying not to fall off. he held her thighs and began the walk back to the curtis, halfway through the walk y/n nearly slipped off so he changed his form of carrying her.

she now lay in his arms, he held her like little baby. her legs dangled and and her mouth mumbled nothings.

but one sentence caught his interest, "i love this boyyyy, soda what should i do?" she said looking up at him.

he snickered, well as long as she was happy he would be fine being in love sucks. so even though she wouldn't remember what advice he gave her he said it anyway. "tell him, and tell him with that cute smiled of yours." he said grinning at her.

she looked up at, "sodapop patrick curtis, i love youuuuu!" she shouted the end, smiling at him. he smiled back at her.

"no you don't silly." he said chuckling but inside that hurt him more than it hurt her.

"yes i do, but you are so god damned oblivious that you don't noticed how much i care. i shouldn't but every time you go to a drag race i pray to whatever is out there to keep you safe." she said sobering up a little.

he looked down at her, "you aren't thinking straight y/n/n." he sighed.

she stood up out of his grip pushed his shoulder. "yes i am, i love you soda and i know you don't love me back but get over it!" she shouted running to the curtis house which was in front of them.

tears escaping her eyes. by now she had done all three drunk things and became sober with the time of half an hour.

the night was just a big mess.

the boys noticed her bruised face, crying eyes, and sodapop chasing her with a worried expression.

she bolted into sodapop and pony's room locking the door.

he knocked on the door, "come on y/n let me in please." he said more tears escaped her eyes.

"leave me alone soda!" she shouted back from the bed, tears rolling onto the pillow. she was sad about everything, socs were being meaner the usual, her dad was a prick, her mother could care less as long as its not her being hit she didn't care, and sodapop didn't love her back.

his eyes watered sliding down the door waiting until she would let her in, ponyboy walked down the hall to see what was going on. he asked soda what was going on, and he replied with "i think i messed up ponyboy really bad. really, really bad."

pony viewed his brother and nodded he thought it would be best not to bother the teens. he shook his head walking back into the lounge, i really don't want to deal with that when i'm older jesus.

"please y/n, i'm not leaving until you open the damn door." he said banging it, she got up and angrily opened it.

he grabbed her face and kissed her, before she could shout at him, before steve could ask whats wrong, before it all. she kissed back, they not much long later pulled away. "of course i love you y/n, i always have. even when we were little and i used to pull on your pig tail."

y/n laughed, "boys." she said shaking her head.

"hey!" shouted all the boys in the household she just simply chuckled.

well that was an eventful night out.
