The room was silent for a long time.

"C-cancer? How is that even possible?! My body is fully developed! Vampires don't have a fully functioning system! How can he cancer even spread or get there in the first place?!" I asked, hyperventilating for a brief second.

"Ms. Secret....you are half human therefore your body is still technically functional. You have the same chance as every other person to get cancer." He sighed.

I place my head in my hands and dry sobbed for a little bit. Finally, I looked up at the doctor.

"How much time is there left for me?" I whispered.

"Eight months at the least, twelve months at most."

I nodded.

"So I have to live life to its fullest don't I?" I said.

He placed a hand on my shoulder.

"I'm truly sorry." He said.

I shake my head.

"That doesn't change much does it."

"Look, I'm going to do everything in my power to help you though this. I promise."

I stiffened.

"Don't make a promise you can't keep." I whispered, flinging the blankets off me and walking to the bathroom to change out of the awful hospital clothes.

I walked out in a black dress and boots. Santana walked to me and handed me a packet with a pen.
"You'll have to fill out this information please."

I nodded. I started to write my name but stopped when it said 'last name'. I was technically still a Volturi but... I flung the papers off my laps and stormed to the lobby.

"I'm sorry I can't." I whispered.

"We can't help you if you don't fill out the paperwork Ms. Secret." Argued the doctor.

"It's fine. Promises were made to be broken anyway. I'm used to it."

I walked out the door and into a cafe, ordering a coffee and slice of cake. As I waited for my food to arrive, I looked out the busy street of London, lovers holding hands and kissing. Tears started brimming in my eyes but I quickly wiped them away. I looked back at my phone, going through the contacts list. I stopped at his name. We left each other at such a bad note.

"Oh Alec what have I done...." I whispered.

I wanted to call him. To tell him that I love him and want to return to him. I shakily pressed the button and placed the phone to my ear. It rang three times before someone picked up.

"Ciao?"

His voice was like honey, dripping off silk.

"Ciao Alec." I whispered.

"I'm sorry who is this?" He asked.

"It's me."

"S-Secret?"

"Yeah." I took a deep breathe.

"Oh my god where are you?! Please come back to me baby, I'm sorry just please!" He begged.

My heart broke.

"Alec, you know that I can't." I whispered.

"BULL CRAP!" he shouted.

I flinched at his tone. He took a couple of deep breathes before continuing.

"I'm sorry baby. Just please." He whispered.

"Alec...."

I couldn't continue.

"I'm going to find you. I give you my word. I will."

No...I can't have another promise broken. Not from him, Once already hurt so badly. Twice would be killing me a second time.

"Alec, baby don't."

"No I will! I-"

"No baby. I'm coming back."

"You're....what?"

"I'm coming back for you."

"You are?" He sounded like he was going to cry.

"Yes baby. I'll see you soon okay? Be safe. I love you." I whispered.

"Ti amo, mio amore. Addio."

I smiled.
