"i don't think i've seen you this upset since bomi died" yunho pat mingis shoulder

bomi died the day before mingis birthday a couple years ago, the kids have been trying to convince seonghwa to get another. but seonghwa wants a cat.

"you really had to mention our dead dog right now?" mingi put his paper plate that once held his piece of cake in the trash

"are you sure you're okay?"

"i'm fine hyung" mingi reassured "i just wish he wouldn't do this linda stuff on jongho's birthday"

"i know..."

"i blame the friends he has" mingi hopped on the counter as yeji walked in

"me too" yunho nodded

"are you guys talking about san?" she asked. the boys nodded "he keeps ignoring lia"

"i thought they liked each other?" mingi tilted his head

"no, well, kinda. lia likes him. but now that he's acting like this, she said she doesn't know how she feels" yeji explained

"he needs to get his shit together" yunho said as he walked toward the fridge

"since when do you cuss?" yeji laughed

"yunho's been cussing since he was like ten" mingi laughed as yunho grabbed pepsi's for all of them

"you never cuss around me" she said grabbing the can

"i only do it around mingi, he's the only one that doesn't run to tell mom and dad everything. and yeosang" yunho chuckled as he remembered a time when he accidentally sang a cuss word with wooyoung around and he went screaming to seonghwa that he said a bad word. "the reason i don't cuss around you, is because i don't feel the need to" yunho shrugged

"you're a weird one" yeji laughed

"hey babies" hongjoong smiled as he walked in seeing the kids laughing

"hey pops" yeji started calling hongjoong pops recently, he hates it.

"yeji, i'd rather you call me short man" hongjoong joked

"oh so i can call you that now?" yeji smiled innocently

"please no." hongjoong shook his head "what're you guys talking about?"

"san" mingi said nonchalantly

"oh, that reminds me. mingi can i talk to you later, privately please" hongjoong asked, mingi nodded "thank you. now get your butt of the counter"

mingi immediately hopped off the counter.

"present time, come on before jongho rips them all open in five seconds" seonghwa said poking his head in the kitchen

everyone walked into the living room, seeing jongho crowded by gifts, sitting like a prince. mingi laughed at the youngest, then turned his head to see san sitting by the stairs eating cake. he rolled his eyes before bringing his attention back to his fav- i mean his younger brother. yeah.
