Sorry this one took longer to come out, had end of the year exams

Also this is near 4000 words so a bit longer chapter than what I normally write

But this story is going to be a lot longer than I intended it to if I don't make the chapters longer

Fenrys

He smiled softly before taking his exhausted mate and sliding off her soaked shirt and pants, him pausing just a second to stare at the scars on her back. And not just on her back. A few older scars and dysmorphic skin littered her arms and legs, and Fenrys's heart clenched.

Her undergarments were still on but he slid off her shoes, and wrapped her in the fluffy blanket.

Fenrys scooped her up in his arms, Nia's eyes flickering every now and then as if she was still fighting the exhaustion. He carried her up the single flight of stairs to the second floor and to where the guest bedroom was. Fenrys could stay in his own room but decided that even being there would be too painful for him and he could just crash in the second guest room.

Fenrys walked into the guest room, white pillows and sheets neatly made. The house cleaner was the same one that his parents used. Fenrys never worried about her stealing anything as the cleaner was an old friend of his parents and wouldn't betray them or their family. The pay check alone he gave her should be more than enough of an incentive.

Fenrys set her down on the soft, massive bed before going over to the fireplace to get something burning and make sure that Nia stayed warm. Massive windows to the right showed the lake and the reflected star light in the distance.

Once he got a fire going, Fenrys wandered down the hall, the fire crackling behind him, to his parents bedroom.

Nia, Nia, Nia, Fenrys reminded himself, ignoring the paintings of his family or anything but the wardrobe he was raiding. He took some of his fathers clothes, not wanting to have deal with going into his old room and slid them on.

His mother was a couple of inches taller than Nia but he grabbed some things that he should fit her before heading towards the master bathroom.

He could always count on his mothers medicine cabinet to be fully stocked and it was. He knew these kind of tonics didn't go bad as stole one for Nia before heading back down the hall.

When he got back to the room as soon as he stepped foot inside the room, Nia's head darted up again. Her eyes locked with Fenrys and the scent of fear doused the room.

Nia

"It's just me," he said softly, but Nia realized that she really only had a blanket covering her, she held it up, scrambling away.

Her eyes darted around the room not recognizing it as dread and panic consumed her. "It's just me," he said again, and Nia's heart pounded. She was on a bed with her clothes mostly off with a male a few feet away from her.

"I took off your clothes cause I didn't want you to freeze." He took a step closer, and her head hit the headboard of the bed. The male didn't get any closer, staring at her. He could probably scent her fear, and they usually didn't care or delighted in it.

Nia stared at him not daring to speak out, and just waiting for an order. Waiting for him to order her take off her clothes or put his mouth on him. For him to touch her and make her--

Dread welled up inside her, as she tried to mentally ready herself for what was inevitably going to happen--

"I need you to drink this," he said, Nia noticing the cup of liquid in his hand. "It's just a tonic to make sure you don't get an infection or blood poisoning. Okay?"
