~Your heart should only beat for me. ~

.

"Where is Faris, Ajwa? You said he would come before the groom's family will be here," her mother asked her, leaving her almost out of an answer. She now thought she should have said the real thing that he might not make it to attend the function. And now she was stuck with so many questioning and ridiculing eyes; of which one was her father.

She opened her mouth to say the truth but before she could do so, a voice spoke before her.

"AssalamoAlaikum!" It was his calm and deep voice, which had always managed to bring havoc in her heart and so it did this time.

She turned around to look at her husband who stood there, looking so handsome in that white shalwar kameez. Faris's eyes weren't on her. But when they did, they flickered with something and the black in them darkened. His jaw clenched and he curled his fingers in a fist. But Ajwa was so happy and relieved right now to detect this change.

He never showed such an intense reaction to her. Instead whenever he saw her, his stare softened and a smile did come across his lips. But at this time, none happened. His eyes were hard and cold while his expressions were also taut like she did something really wrong.

"Walaikum Assalam. Faris beta. How are you?" Ayesha asked politely.

Ajwa approached him and gave him a heartwarming smile.

"I am good, Aunt," he replied, with a nod of his head. His expression softened looking at her.

"Faris, you came. I thought you wouldn't come," she mumbled.

Ajwa's whole face was glowing right now. She who a few minutes ago was so dull and sad now got so delighted that it was showing from her whole body. And it was just due to Faris; the guy who possessed her heart.

Today she was saved by so much humiliation. And how much she wished that she would enjoy her sister's wedding with Faris beside her. And now it happened. He really came just because of her. She got a dire wish to just forget everything else and rush into his arms. If many guests wouldn't have been there, she would have most probably done it. Right now, she was feeling so connected, closer, and treasured by him.

Faris diverted his attention back to her and his whole body tensed again. His lips puckered into a thin line as he regarded her. His eyes again did a journey of her elegant figure from head to toe and she shuddered under the passion of them. She knew even without saying anything, they had colors of complement her beauty.

"Why did you think so?" He questioned with a tilt of his shoulder.

"Because you said that you don't have any idea when you will be back. But I am so glad to see you here," Ajwa reasoned, with that bright smile on her lips.

His stare lingered on her lips colored in dark red lipstick and then those attractive curves. Faris breathed heavily while something again flared in his eyes. He was behaving weirdly today and slowly Ajwa was realizing it.

"Hmmm. But I have to come back for you," he murmured in a sensual voice which even made Ajwa shiver because of the emphasis it had.

"Is everything alright now, Faris?" She gently touched his arm when they were left alone as the guests gathered towards the entrance since the groom's family arrived.

He nodded. "Everything is under control."

She was thinking he was talking about the situation of his clinic but little did she know that he meant her and he himself.
