Chapter dedicated to nardhana. Happy birthday dear. ❤

"Faris," she started, cupping his jaw. "Do you get to remember him while looking at your twin boys?"

He remained stiffened in his place. For a long time, he couldn't speak because he himself couldn't pinpoint what exactly he was feeling. It was true seeing his own twin sons, he got to remember him. But that emotion which was surfacing in his heart was very vague and weird. Faris looked at Ajwa's worried eyes before taking her hands off his face. Gingerly covering her small hands with his own, he glanced at his sleeping children in their respective cribs.

He started. "I don't know Ajwa. The first time we got the news of our twin pregnancy, apart from the obvious happiness, there was something else too germinating in my insides. My parents would have been happy the same way we were at this news. And now when I saw our twin babies, it again came back. He and I shared the same womb, shared the same nutrition, and came to this world together. Someone will think that this would have made us some kind of best brothers but we were far from it. The bond we shared wasn't based on the beautiful way we had been made to come to a life by Allah. I just don't want my own sons to feel hatred, competition, and jealousy from one another."

Ajwa remained silent the whole time. When he stopped to catch a breath, she sighed and squeezed his hand.

"Do you still hate Faraan?" She asked.

Ajwa implored the same thing in herself. Did she still hate him? The answer was that she didn't know completely. But it was definitely wasn't hate. It was true; in the past, she used to resent him because of what he did. But then slowly, as things fell to their place, she forgot about him and what he made her and around him go through. She got her own family and other things to care about. He was getting punishment for what he did. Besides, she heard that he was seen to be coming closer to Allah SWT by his deeds. After that, there was nothing to hold against him anymore.

Faris's forehead wrinkled before he shook his head. "There's nothing I feel for him, Ajwa. I have become as emotionless regarding him as I was before to the whole world. I don't hate him yet I don't feel love for him as well. Yes, sometimes I think about him when I remember my mother. She loved us both at the same level and perhaps she wants to see us both happy still. That was the reason I met him when Eizal was born. My mother's happiness of having her twin children came into my mind. He is striving for a blessed path and that's something really nice. May Allah accept our prayers and deeds."

Ajwa smiled. "Ameen and regarding what you said earlier then Faris, we won't let our sons feel any negative emotion against each other. Parents should also treat their children equally and not let one to take the rights of another. They shouldn't make one feel bad and inferior to other siblings by constantly comparing them. As Imad and Iyad shared my womb together for nine months, they will share a very cordial bond for the rest of their lives even forever as well In Sha Allah."
