"Special moves?!"

The class was currently in an uproar. Well, you kind of got where they were coming from. A lot had happened recently, so it was nice to be able to focus on some hero-like curriculum. You were all told to change into your costumes and meet back up at Gym Gamma, a facility where Cementoss was free to prepare terrains and training structures personalized to suit everyone's Quirks.

Everyone seemed excited, but you couldn't help but slump your shoulders. There was hardly any way for you to benefit from training if you weren't using your Quirk against people. It sucked, but the way things were, it looked like you'd be left out again, like usual.

The teachers went on to explain the importance of special moves, the means with which a hero could stabilize a tricky situation-something like Iida's Recipro-burst, for instance.

I wonder if even I could have something like that.

With a power as highly variable as yours, you got the sense that it would be difficult. Still, you understood the importance of developing an ace-in-the-hole if you were ever backed into a corner by villains. You would have to put some thought into this and try to figure something out.

In order to train all the students simultaneously, Ectoplasm made use of his clones. One of them had been sent out to stay with you, and a few pillars and blockades had been created by Cementoss to aid in your training.

"I'm not really sure what kind of special move someone like me would have," you admitted.

Ectoplasm tapped his chin introspectively. "Hm, well... I guess that's true. Yours isn't exactly a tangible power, nor is it a physical mutation. What would you say increases the likelihood of your Quirk working?"

"Physical contact. Touching them, or doing intimate things like kissing, but I understand something like that would be difficult to pull off in a real fight. I can also control people with my voice, but it's not always guaranteed to work. It really depends on how my target perceives me. Oh, also-I found out during the Sports Festival that my voice will only work on those who can see me. If their eyes are closed or something, I need to touch them in order for my Quirk to affect them."

"That shouldn't be too bad. I wouldn't say it's often that enemies close their eyes while facing off against their opponent."

"Yeah, but if they know how my power works, I wouldn't have the element of surprise, and villains might be able to run away from me."

"That is true," Ectoplasm acknowledged. He paused for a moment, then raised his pointer finger. "In that case, rather than figuring out a special move, it sounds to me more like you might be in need of additional equipment."

You frowned. "Equipment?"

"Yes, support equipment. If you are worried about the unpredictable limits of your powers and the possibility of your targets not being affected, perhaps you should consider using items or upgrading your costume in a way that would support your Quirk. You might be interested in paying the Support Department a visit, and then thinking about your special moves afterwards."

You decided you had nothing to lose. All around you, students were running around, excited to test their limits, but you felt just as stuck as always. In times like these, you couldn't help but think of Aphrodite, and even Ares. You understood your relationship with them was an unordinary thing that couldn't have gone on, but you couldn't help but yearn for a bit of clarity every now and then. Your powers... you really wanted to master them. You were sure that if you did, you would be able to save a lot of people.

Thanking Ectoplasm for his suggestion, you left Gym Gamma and headed back inside the main building, towards the Support Department. The hallways were unfamiliar to you. Since you were close with Shinsou, you'd spent a bit of time in the General Department's area, but you'd never been here before.
