👼 MY ANGEL 👼

Elsa slowly opened her eyes and realized she had fallen asleep. Looking around, she found herself in bed next to Jeremy. Jeremy wasn’t asleep; he was just lying next to her, playing with her hair. The lights were on, and the fire had been put out.

Feeling Elsa move, Jeremy asked softly, “Are you awake?”

Elsa looked into Jeremy’s eyes and said quietly, “Yes, I am... How long was I asleep?”

“For about an hour,” Jeremy replied calmly, estimating the time.

Elsa looked at the wall clock; it was 10:40 pm.

Remembering what had happened before she fell asleep, Elsa felt disappointed in herself. She had been doing so well and didn’t expect to have a panic attack. Feeling guilty for putting Jeremy through that, Elsa said to him, “I’m sorry for what happened... I didn’t expect to, you know... I thought by now I could handle it... Turns out... I... I’m sorry.”

When Jeremy heard that, he sighed shakily. Still playing with her hair, he said to her, “You don’t have to apologize. I’m not mad at you for anything. I’m mad at myself. I should apologize to you. I shouldn’t have pushed you so hard. I’m so sorry.”

When Elsa heard that, she looked at him with narrowed eyes and said calmly, “It’s not your fault.”

“It kinda is. I’m helping you, remember? I should know when it’s too much and not trigger you.”

Trigger.

Elsa looked at Jeremy as her expression slowly softened. At that moment, she didn’t seem to hate him as much as before. She didn’t look at him and want to strangle him to death. She wasn’t as mad at him as she used to be. Even though thinking of her first child made her heartbreak, she didn’t have the thirst for blood like she used to.

Looking at him with a little smile on her face, Elsa said, “I’ve been doing well the past few days. You couldn’t have known. Don’t blame yourself for something that’s not your fault.”

When Jeremy heard that, he smiled too.

But then, his smile turned into a frown as he thought of something. Looking in Elsa’s direction, he said, “Angel, can I ask you something?”

Interested, Elsa answered, “Sure.”

“Angel,” Jeremy started softly, “Are you sure about this?”

Having no clue what Jeremy was talking about, Elsa asked, “About what?”

Jeremy lay awfully still as his eyes roamed around without any focus. Then, he let out a nervous sigh before saying, “Are you sure you want to go and save Lui from his mother?”

Hearing that, Elsa shifted in bed and turned to look at Jeremy. Her eyes narrowed as she asked, “Of course I’m sure about saving Lui. Why would you even ask that? Don’t you want your brother to come back?”
