The Power of the Time Curse...

It was not possible what he was seeing in front of him. He noticed that all the enemies around him began to move away, as if they were frightened. Surely it wasn't because of him; he hadn't used the full extent of his powers, only enough to keep away the more eager enemies to hurt him. The soldiers would take care of the rest. But something was wrong; someone else was scaring them. He had only seen frightened looks like these in war—looks that were now directed at him, like cornered animals with nowhere to escape.

Looks that he knew very well, from when he himself used all his powers in combat. But that wasn't the case now. A closer look at the enemies made him realize that they weren't looking at him but at his back. When Lonios turned around, Nimbus was disarming three enemies around him; four were lying on the ground, and three more were falling with swords torn from their comrades stuck in their chests.

Nimbus moved absurdly fast, something Lonios had only seen when people from his Bloodline used their powers without holding back for a moment.

That's when Nimbus noticed that his master was watching him. Quickly, he smiled and knocked down three more enemies with a single blow.

There was only one explanation for such speed and precision in combat: one of the Curses of Sight, one of the most powerful—the Time Curse, a power he himself had developed. But that wouldn't be possible; only members of his family, of pure blood, could develop it. Even though Nimbus was a descendant of his family, he was certainly a mix, the son of a father or mother from another lineage, which automatically excluded him from developing one of the Curses of Sight. How could it be possible?

Now, no enemy dared to approach around them; a circle of more than five meters in diameter around the two was easily controlled by Nimbus, who knocked down anyone who dared to approach. The battle was won.

At that moment, Lonios noticed that Valeros had approached his fallen master, and his soldiers kept the approaching enemies away. Then he shouted: attack. Immediately, all the soldiers waiting at the Brand ran and occupied the space where Nimbus had kept the path open. But Adon and Boagrius's condition was desperate. Boagrius was completely riddled with arrows all over his body and, unable to resist the wounds, fell to the ground lifeless, with his eyes open; his sword was still stuck in the chest of an enemy archer. Sir Adon had also fallen, but his problem was different; he had burned all the matter in his body to become so large and strong. So Lonios ran to the entrance of the bridge and, along with Nimbus at his rear, fought against the enemies who kept coming out of the ship. Lonios eliminated each one mercilessly, and those who escaped his sword were incapacitated by Nimbus, who wasn't very successful in not seriously injuring anyone who approached.

It was then that Valeros, in fury, threw himself against the door and entered the cabin, attacking everything and everyone in his way. It was then that Nimbus fell to the ground. It was the price to be paid for using the Curse of Sight for the first time.

Immediately, Lonios approached the boy and held him in his arms. He was unconscious, his eyes bleeding, as if he were crying blood while sleeping. Taking the handkerchief from his pocket, Lonios bandaged the boy. He knew that now, for the next few days, he wouldn't be able to open his eyes. A piercing pain would be felt at the slightest hint of light falling on his tired eyes. Asking his men to keep the unconscious boy safe, he moved to the newly broken bridge by Valeros.

It was then that Lonios looked out the window of the enemy bridge, and the Peregrino was being submerged into the vastness of the ether, pulled by the creature.
