At that moment, Nimbus remembered the promise he had made to his probably now-dead master, whether by poison, violence from the storm, or the ship's explosion.

— We have to surrender — Nimbus lowered his sword as the enemies, in much larger numbers, surrounded them.

— What do you mean? What about the suicidal attack and fighting to the death story? — Dr. Henry spoke, with a sad expression.

— I have a mission, and I gave my word that I would fulfill it — Nimbus said, with tears in his eyes and a smile on his face, remembering his master's teachings.

Everyone lowered their weapons; after all, Nimbus was now their commander. Elisis and Valeros, Nurse Cristiane, and Dr. Leonardo fought at another end of the ship, also surrounded. When they noticed Nimbus's group lowering their weapons, they did the same. At that moment, the pirates shouted victorious cheers.

At this very moment, from the depths of the ether, a whirl began to form in the clouds, and from there emerged a shape of corroded metal darkened by the acidic clouds. At first, Nimbus couldn't distinguish what this misshapen mass of metal that seemed unable to have its engines running was, but when its silhouette contrasted with the horizon, the young knight recognized it. With engines running at full throttle, floating next to the pirate ship, was the Peregrino, and hundreds of its warriors, led by the knights Flavius, Portos, and Araniz, were emerging onto the deck and jumping to the pirate ship when it was rammed by the allied ship.

Immediately, Nimbus, Elisis, and Valeros led a final charge, and once again, the fight was in their favor. The Peregrino's soldiers outnumbered the pirates two to one, and in a few minutes, the enemy ship was taken, and the pirates dropped their weapons, surrendering.

— How did you survive? — asked the tall, black man known as Sir Flavius.

— We could ask the same, how did you survive all this time, Sir Flavius? — Elisis shook hands with her friend.

— Long story, companion. We lost both layers of the Peregrino's armor and half of the internal modules during the day and night we spent submerged. It was at the final moment when the ether began to corrode the ship's central chambers that the ether monster let us go. With great effort, we managed to return to the engine room and the command bridge, which were already flooded with ether, and started resurfacing. That's when we noticed two ships fighting, one embraced by the monster and the other free. When the ship caught by the monster entered the storm, we realized they might have done it to get rid of the monster, so we came to help you in the battle. It took us almost half an hour to organize everything and ascend the kilometers that separated us from you. And Sir Adon, Lonios, and the others?

Elisis simply bowed her head and shook it negatively. Flavius immediately understood and also fell silent. That's when Nimbus interrupted the conversation.

— Let's go! We have the Brand and a living island to take. Do you think you can find it again, Jim? — he looked at his friend, who approached.

— With some calculations and a bit of luck, we'll find it easily — Jim said, giving a thumbs up.

Flavius, Portos, and Araniz just exchanged glances, not understanding a thing.
