JORDANNA WAS ALWAYS a smart child.
So when her distraught mother came stumbling into her room, face covered in panic, she knew something was wrong. Jordanna's paintbrush hit the floor with a soft thud when she saw the state of Mary-Anne Adams.
Mary's hair stuck to her cheek, a glow added onto her sun-kissed skin—sweat dripped down her forehead, slowly, almost taunting her. A panicked look etched onto her face, green eyes glimmered in terror. Fear. Her whole body shook, hands tremoring as Jordanna stared back up at her, bright blue eyes shone with confusion.
