The rest of the day goes by pretty slowly, and by the time I walk back to Grayson's car, I'm practically running.

"Someone's in a rush," Grayson chuckles.

"School is fucking boring," I smile, getting into the car. "I have no idea why Aria and Devyn always insist that I have to be here."

"Because it's good for you," Grayson laughs.

"No, it's not," I scoff. "It's a waste of time."

Grayson just shakes his head while still laughing.

We get to the house and walk inside.

Devyn sees us and gets up to walk to his room. Leia looks back and forth between us.

"You should go talk to him," I murmur, looking up at him. "I don't think I'll be able to change his attitude."

"Okay," he sighs, following Devyn into his room.

I bite my lips and watch as the door shuts behind him.

Please, Devyn, don't be too hard on him.

"I'm sorry," Leia mumbles as she watches me.

"For what?" I ask, confused.

"For doubting your relationship. We shouldn't have done that. I can tell you guys really like each other," Leia says.

"It's fine," I shrug. I sit down on the couch next to Leia to wait for Grayson to come back out.

I can't believe how different things are now. Grayson and I went from not being able to stand each other, to doing everything together. And now that he's gone right now, I already miss him, even though he's just in the other room. That's probably not good.

"Where's Aria?" I ask Leia.

"I'm not sure," she says. "She didn't come back yet."

"That's weird," I mutter. "I'll text her."

Emery: Where are you?

Emery: Leia said you didn't come back yet.

Devyn and Grayson come walking out.

"We'll be back," Devyn calls as he walks outside.

"Where are you going?" I jump up and walk over to Grayson.

"Devyn wants to go out," he sighs.

"When are you coming back?" I mumble.

"We shouldn't be gone long," he murmurs. "I'll text you."

"Okay," I whisper as he walks outside.

"You guys are cute together," Leia smiles as I sit down next to her.

"What?" I bite my lip, not wanting to say anything.

"Yeah, you're really good together. I don't know how we all thought you weren't. It's really obvious—"

"Can I tell you something?" I blurt, cutting her off.

"Yeah, what's up?" She asks, her voice full of concern.

"But you can't tell anyone. Not even Joslyn or Rebekah, okay?" I say.

"Emery, you're scaring me," she looks even more concerned now.

"Grayson and I aren't together. Not really," I rush to get the words out before I change my mind. "It's fake. This whole thing has been fake. He's my fake boyfriend. He agreed to help me so the whole thing with Jack would stop. But we're not together."
