My eyes snap open at the sound of my door creaking.

"You're alright, baby," Grayson kisses my head.

I look up and see Devyn set a bag of food down on the edge of my bed.

"Thank you," I murmur as he walks out.

I look up at Grayson and he smiles at me.

"I love you," I kiss his cheek. "I missed you so much."

"God, I missed you too," he hugs me to his chest.

"I'm sorry you had to come back early," I whisper.

"Why are you sorry, baby?" He inhales. "I came back because I was worried about you. I wanted to make sure you were okay. I tried texting you but you never answered."

"I'm sorry," I say again. "My phone is broken."

"Don't apologize," he shakes his head.

He grabs the bag of food and hands it to me.

"If it makes you feel sick, don't it eat, baby," he kisses my head.

I eat the food slowly to try and keep my stomach from hurting.

Once I finish, I look up at Grayson.

"All better?" He tilts his head. "Or are you still hungry?"

"I'm all better now," I smile at him.

"Good," he runs his fingers through my hair.

I shudder at his touch but don't pull away.

I know he's not going to hurt me.

Grayson would never.

"Can we go to your house?" I whisper.

"Yeah, baby, let's go," he takes my hand and pulls me to my feet. He picks up Mr. Whiskers and hands him to me.

We walk through the living room and everyone turns to look at me.

"Where are you guys going?" Devyn asks.

"My house," Grayson murmurs, pulling me closer to him and picks up his suitcase with his other hand.

We walk outside and get into his car.

"I got you something, pretty girl," he kisses my hand before reaching into his suitcase.

He pulls out a simple maroon hoodie that says New York.

I smile and slip it on.

"It smells like you," I inhale.

"I wore it a couple of times while we were out there," he intertwines his fingers with mine.

"Thank you," I rest my head on his shoulder.

"You're welcome, baby," he breathes.

"Emmy, baby," Grayson whispers against my head. "I've got you. It's just a nightmare. You're safe. You're still in my arms."

My eyes snap open and I blink up at him, panting.

I hadn't even realized I fell asleep.

"You're shaking," he kisses my forehead.

I look down at my trembling fingers and frown.

I look around at the room around us and look up at him confused.

"You fell asleep in the car, baby," he rubs my back. "I didn't want to wake you up."
