So, today was the day.

The reveal of Tsukishiro's actions.

Ichinose's choice, and Ryuuen's last stand.

"And then my matter with him," I mumbled to myself.

Horikita had been trailing me as expected, and some form of evidence to expel me hadn't made itself visible. Though, this is from my own observations. Perhaps there was something I hadn't noticed, it was possible.

But now it doesn't matter. It'll all be over today. Kanzaki knows what to do, and there is no doubt in my mind that he'd follow through.

I walked into the auditorium and the ight that resided in the gym seemed off. The light within the auditorium seemed so much dimmer than usual, even though I knew it wasn't the case. It's as if the room is responding to the future. I settled into my seat and took a glance at those around me.

Excitement. Serenity. Eagerness. Fear.

A flurry of emotions was present in the student's expressions.

"Now then, let's get to it. The end of the final exam for the first years."

Tsukishiro's behind-the-scenes machinations.

"Many thanks for today, Ayanokōji-kun."

"Yeah. You too."

After the seventh event, the first thing we did was exchange pleasantries with each other. It had only taken 30 minutes, but she had been going full throttle the entire time. Her fatigue was probably considerable.

"It takes endurance to play chess. There was Horikita-san's marvelous response to Hashimoto during the opening, and then your own extraordinary fighting style that was even better than that. It truly was wonderful."

Sakayanagi had a satisfied look on her face. It seemed like she had brought out her very best.

It's a little sadistic for Tsukishiro to burn that expression down.

"Isn't it a little weird how you didn't get attacked at all, senpai?" Amasawa asked.

But it was weird this time, it wasn't as if I could merely ignore it and pretend I didn't hear her, her voice was incredibly loud. I glanced at the direction of her voice and it seemed her seat was changed. She had taken Takahashi of the first-year's spot.

"I couldn't do anything, don't blame me," Yagami shrugged with a dissatisfied look.

"How did you move seats?" Horikita asked with a baffled look.

Amasawa grinned and placed her pointer finger on her lips, "Oh, senpai, isn't it the first rule of the school? Anything can be bought with points."

Horikita's eyes widened in surprise. Of course, not many had thought about that, and even if they did, they didn't see it as worth it to change the seats. Only people who were placed next to rather unfavourable seatmates would take the choice.

Ryuuen turned to her with an amused glint in his eye, "How much was it?" he chuckled as if he approved of Amasawa's actions.

"Hmm, 50 thousand, maybe?" Amasawa pondered.

That's the average student's monthly allowance. No way anyone besides those in class A or those with disposable income would take it.

"Class A sure has a lotta perks," Ryuuen clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction.

I wonder what he would do. Maybe instead of changing seats himself, he'd change someone else's placement. But I highly doubt he'd break out the wallet and do it unless it was highly valuable.
