"My pain is so deep that it never had a cause, and has no need of a cause."

Yes, I knew that this night brought spirits back and that we could communicate with them. But what I didn't know was that Christian and my parents were going to visit tonight. It was all too much.

"Christian?" I asked. "What are you doing here?"

He smirked. "Don't you want me here?"

"No, I – that's not what I meant," I said. "I'm so happy to see you."

"Before my siblings realize that you're talking to their dead brother, I wanted to tell you that you made a mistake," he admitted. "You made a mistake trusting Ben."

I tried to find him in the crowd, but couldn't. He was nowhere in sight. Then I looked at my parents and both of them nodded their heads in agreement. "We agree, sweetheart. He shouldn't be trusted nor he should be allowed at this place."

"I don't trust him, either. But he did help cure me." I said.

"The greatest monster is the one that you think has good intentions. But as it turns out, they do not." Christian said. "Now, listen to me, I want you to be careful tonight. There are many on the other side who want to hurt you. They want their vengeance and they will have it if you don't watch your back."

"I know. Trust me, I know they want to. But they should know that I'm not going down without a fight. So, let them come and they will see exactly what's in store for them."

Christian turned his head toward my parents. "Your daughter really is strong."

"Indeed, she is. The strongest." my father said.

"Now, let's see if I can scare the living crap out of Sebastian and Ellie," he said, walking off. I followed him all the way to where his siblings were standing. Then, he said something, making them turn around in disbelief. I watched from afar as Ellie started crying, Sebastian smiling widely at his reunion with his brother. "I forgive you, Sebastian. I hope you know that." I heard Christian say. Then it was the King of Ambrosia turn to shed a tear. It was something out of a dream.

"I hope you know what's coming, my sweet Elora," my mother said from behind me. I turned around, now focusing on my parents. They were like Christian, transparent to the point that it was hard to fully see them. "Ben is not the only one you should look for, but his father."

I clicked my tongue. "Or as I like to call him, the person behind all of what happened to me since the war ended. Don't worry, we are figuring out a plan to stop him."

"He's much stronger then you think, we're worried about you." my father admitted.

"Let's not talk about this right now," I said. "I think someone has been waiting to see you for a long time." I gestured to my brother who was standing quietly behind me for some time now. His eyes were widened at the sight of my parents and tears were coming out of them.

They looked at him now but only stared for a moment. "Jasper?" my mother asked. "Is that you?"

"Yes, it's me," he whispered. "I'm back." She walked over to him and just smiled. Neither one of them could hug him and it was the one terrible thing about today. "You should believe me when I say that I didn't think that Agnes would kill you two."

"Let's not talk about it, son, I know you had good intentions." my father told him. I couldn't help but smile at all of them, each member of my family all together again. I wish it was like this every day.

"We missed you so much," I said finally. "Jasper and I thought we weren't going to see you."

"Your father and I are here." my mother said, looking at both of her children. "And I am with my family now. It's all I could wish for."

Then, as if out of nowhere, I felt it. I felt a surge of magic go through me like someone was using it. Using Fae magic. I couldn't explain what I was feeling, or how I was feeling, but all I know is that it wasn't good. It hit me hard to the point that I looked at my brother warily and he only nodded his head to say that he felt it too. Both of us were the only ones that could feel it. Someone like us was here, using their magic for something that we didn't know what. How did they get through security?

I turned to my parents again. "Someone is using magic in here," I said. "Get to a safe place."

"What do you mean?" my mother asked. "How do you know?"

"Jasper and I feel it. I don't know how, but we do." I paused as if this was a farewell. Somehow it felt like it. That maybe I wasn't going to experience All Hallows Eve ever again. "I love you, mom and dad. I've got to make sure that my home is safe."

"Be careful." my father said. "And remember to be as fearless as we all know you are." I smiled before walking toward Sebastian and the others.

"I love you, too." said Jasper from behind me.

As I was now beside Sebastian, he looked at and smiled. "My brother is here," he said brightly. "And he scared me half to death."

Christian laughed. "Aren't you already dead?"

"That's the point."

They were laughing, even Ellie and it was the first time that I actually have seen all of them full of joy. Full of light. And I didn't know how I was going to break it all up.

I let out a breath. "Listen, there's something going on," I said. Sebastian whirled and looked at me full of worry. The rest followed. "Someone is using Fae magic. I feel it. Jasper feels it too."

My brother nodded his head once more as he stood beside me, his hands in his pockets. "We need to find who it is now." I said. What I didn't tell them is the sheer terror that was forming in my bones. Or the dread that something bad is going to happen.

"Go," said Christian to his two siblings. "Find out who it is and be as ruthless as you can be." He turned toward me finally. "And you too. Be as mean as Sebastian here and fight hard."

"I will."

Lies.

Then we silently disappeared from the party. Sebastian walked quickly behind me, almost stepping on my long gown more than once. I felt it grow closer as it led me upstairs. Closer until I felt the feeling strong in my own bones. As if the magic was pouring within me, attracting me.

Jasper and I stopped. We all stopped at once as we realized what it was coming from. The crypt that held the bodies of Sebastian's family. I couldn't help but go in first. After all, I was the only one that was stronger than the rest of them.

I opened the door and I was seething by the time that I realized what was happening. It was not only Ben doing the magic, but more importantly, his father. He was here. And looked almost identical to Segovia. To me. It was eerie.

Ben's father turned around and I almost swore that the Earth shook. He looked at me fully, as if he was looking at his own daughter. "It's nice to finally meet you in person, Elora Miller."

This was not going to be good.
