Amelia shuffled around her kitchen, making a smoothie for breakfast. She kept looking over her shoulder at the laptop, checking if she had any emails from work while she threw some spinach in a blender. She spun around, blaring her "Feel Good" playlist in her headphones. She'd been having an blah morning and needed a break so she thought dancing around her kitchen would help. Amelia should've been happy, she just got a small promotion which came with a raise, but she couldn't help but let her loneliness cloud the excitement.

Obviously it didn't matter, being single at 25 wasn't uncommon and it's not like she could get out there and meet a guy at the club in the middle of a pandemic. But the pandemic only intensified the urge she had to share her thoughts and feelings with someone else. Everything that had happened with her mom, the promotion, the stress from quarantine.. she had to admit, it would've been better with a partner to share these things with and not just living at home with her dad and their cat. Quarantining with the two of them had been alright at first, but once her dad went back to work and she was by herself every single day she couldn't help but feel a little pitiful.

Turning up her music she grabbed fruit from the freezer and swung the bag around her head before dumping some on top of the spinach and turning the blender on. Between the music and the appliance she thought she heard a weird sound. Pausing her music and turning off the blender, she realized someone was knocking on her door.

Normally that wouldn't be a strange thing, but Amelia lived in an old house converted into an apartment. The main door locked automatically, and you can't get into the entry way without a key. It was the middle of the day and Amelia knew her downstairs neighbor was at her job at the market and her upstairs neighbor was on a virtual teaching session, as she was every afternoon. Amelia hesitated and grabbed her pocketnife from her purse before approaching the door. She took a deep breath, looking down at her pajamas hoping this was just her neighbor with a question.

"Who is it?" She called out hesitantly.

"Amelia? This is Dr Spencer Reid with the FBI. I'm here with my teammate Agent Jennifer Jareau. We have a few questions, if you don't mind."

Amelia stared at the unopened door, knowing she couldn't have heard them right. FBI? Knocking on her door? What could she possibly know that could help them? She thought of the movie she illegally streamed the night before... "No fucking way" she muttered under her breath.

"Uh, Amelia? Can you open the door?" The same male voice said more gently from the other side of the door.

Amelia thought how ridiculous it would be if she got arrested in her Mickey Mouse pajama shorts, but cracked the door open.

"Hi.. uh, could I see your IDs?I'm home alone, and I'm not sure why you're here.." she tried to explain her hesitation, realizing it was coming out more defensive that explanatory but thankfully the small blonde woman in front of her smiled like she got it. Spencer and JJ pulled out their credentials and held them up. After realizing that shit, they really were the FBI, Amelia opened the door and gestured inside without saying anything. The damn FBI doesn't just show up out of no where. She was in trouble, she just didn't know why.

Spencer and JJ walked in Amelia's door and they all stood in her hallway. It was obvious the girl was nervous, she was biting the inside of her lip and fidgeting with a gold band on her thumb while JJ started to explain why they were there. Spencer looked at her, trying not to chuckle at her pajama shorts, but also trying to avoid the blush he knew was forming on his cheeks. He found her beautiful, and that just couldn't happen on a case. Trying to ignore that, something he couldn't ignore was the similarity to Kelley Amanda.
