chapter 11

20 minutes later

I was lying comfortably on the left side of Levi's bed, it was smaller than a would've thought for a Captain. I picked up the book on the cabinet beside me and began to skim over it.

Minutes passed and I heard a click at the door,

'Alright, get some sleep' The Captain nodded at me and held onto the door handle,

'Goodnight, Captain.' I said slowly,

'Night, L/N.' He exited the room quietly and I snuggled deeper into the bed, my legs ached less now and I waited patiently for time to pass, I didn't expect to be able to sleep.

An hour, maybe an hour and a half passed. I twiddled my thumbs as I rolled, being careful of my wounds. I couldn't sleep, I'd been back and forth all night.

There was no light coming from the Captains main area so, I decided to slowly lift my weight onto the floor, the impact caused me to wince, I almost yelped in pain, however, I stayed up and silently shuffled over to the door, I pushed it open slowly and rapidly headed to the main door, I slipped out, I hadn't even thought to check on where Levi was.

I snuck down the halls, I was going to go and get something from the kitchens - a midnight snack if you will. I carried on down the corridor and I slid round the corner and into the kitchen door, I pulled open the fridge in the dark room and pulled out a cookie and immediately began to eat it, I hadn't ate anything properly in a few days.

'Hungry?' A deep voice sounded from behind me, shivers crawled over my spine and my head spun around, my lips stayed sealed shut and I swallowed the remainder of the cookie,

'I couldn't sleep, sir,' I sighed desperately,

He looked at me with exasperation, his eye bags were as dark as ever, he chuckled slightly, I was taken aback at his reaction, I looked at his face and realised it was bruised. He held a drink in his right hand and he sat himself down on the thin metal chair behind him. His hair covered his eyes and his usually pristine white shirt had fallen to a low button.

'Sir?' I asked quietly, as if to ask if he's okay, he sure didn't look it.

I step closer to him until i'm almost stood between the part in his legs without realising. I feel the heat radiating from his body, I breath heavily.

He leant forward and grabbed my hand, he placed it infront of his lips and leant on it,

'Y/N, you never follow the rules. I fucking let you get away with it every time, every single fucking time,' A confused and angry look grew over his face, he dropped my hand and grabbed the side of my waist, he looked up at me, his eyes were filled with drunkenness.

I thought the Captain didn't get drunk?

He finished the drink in his hand in one go and pulled on my shirt,

'What? Why do you stay there? I'm your Captain, you're supposed to be scared, you-you- never listen! I let- I let you get away with it all? What are you trying to do to me?' His eyes fill with desperation, I pull his hand away from my shirt and take a step back,

'I'm not sure what you're saying?'

'Im saying, since the day you fucking joined this group and moved up, you- never mind.' Levi stood up and backed me up into a wall,

He picked up a bottle of alcohol from the side and drank a small amount of it, before smashing it on the wall next to me, my body collapsed in panic and I covered my ears,

He looked at me pitifully, and exhaled with force,

He lifted me up without warning and began to carry my weight, my heart rate skyrocketed, I didn't want to be carried by him, I could feel his hands on my legs and his touch ran all through my body, it felt like I was on fire.

He brought me back to his office and leant me against his desk, he grabbed my collar roughly and his eyes filled with anger until he softened his grip and let go and took a slow step back until the heat left my body,

'I'm sorry.' He seemed calmer,

His head indicated to the bedroom and I entered slowly. He followed me and looked at me as I lay down,

'Night.' He said in a monotone voice once again,

'Wait.' I said bluntly,

He looked at me with hesitation,

'You should sleep in here, you're not in the best state and it would be good to finally get some sleep, Captain' I said nervously, I noticed his face twitch slightly until he walked over to me and lay down next to me, my heart rate quickened, he seemed completely unbothered by it and lay completely still staring at the ceiling,

I watched the way his hair fell on his face and then looked up at the ceiling the same way.
