Alex POV

The sparks spread down through my body as I felt her small hands tighten around my neck, it felt like my whole body was on an all time high from a drug that I knew I was instantly addicted too. How was Alice my mate? How was this even possible? One thought overshadowed my mind though which made me feel sick, if Alistair had never betrayed us, would I have had stayed mateless? She's only my mate now because Alistair didn't want her. I will never be able to wrap my head around why he did that.

I always knew there was something special about her! Theos purred. In fairness to him, as much as we usually feared black wolves, I was never truly afraid of Alice. She made me feel calm when I was around her.

I felt her fingers intwine deeper into my fur as she gripped on tighter, probably to ensure she wasn't going go fall off. Her knees dug into my back and her whole body was pressed into me. She was dainty and there was no weight to her, but damn she still looked good. Her white hair was matted and dirty but nothing a good shower couldn't fix. Underneath it all she had to be the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen.

Thankfully at the speed we were travelling it didn't take us long to reach the pack house. A crowd had already begun to develop at the entrance which made me nervous. Would anyone recognise her? She had shifted when the vampires had captured her after all but they had only seen her for a brief moment before she was thrown into the back of the van. A memory that still haunted me.

I could feel that her whole body had tensed up which meant she was nervous. She wasn't accepted the last time she was here. Hopefully things would be different this time?

"Alice it's okay, no one will hurt you," Mason encouraged, it really was strange to see how much his attitude had changed. He had already shifted from his wolf and was wearing a pair of basketball shorts that were scattered around the woods.

"They will hate me," she mumbled into my fur. A small whine escaped my lips as Theos felt her pain. He didn't want her to feel rejected. The pack should accept her no matter what!

"Don't worry about the pack, you're their Luna. You'll bring the pack together and make us stronger," Mason tried to fill her with confidence which seemed to work. She climbed down from my back but hid her face with her long white hair. She should never have to hide her beauty.

"He's right," I continued, after I shifted and pulled on a pair of basketball shorts. I could see her blushing and chewing on her lip. She looked so cute.

Look even cuter when she bares our mark. Theos grinned. I mentally rolled my eyes before gently gripping her hand and heading towards my pack to make an announcement.

There was alot of stares, whispers and wondering. I could hear the words Luna, mate and familiar whirling around. The word familiar made me nervous. Was she recognised?

"Good afternoon everyone! I have an announcement!" I declared to the crowd. Everyone went quiet as I spoke up. "I have some amazing news! I have found our packs Luna! The moon goddess has finally brought my mate to me after all these years."

"Why does she look so familiar?" one of my warriors spoke up. Mason let out a small growl. I saw Suzie at the corner of my eye slap the side of his head telling him to knock it off which was hard not to chuckle at. I should have known though that someone would recognise her.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've seen her before too!" Oh no, it was Jack one of the warriors Alice had attacked in her shadow form. He stepped forward with narrowed eyes staring at her. James stood forward behind him too. Shit. Two of the out of the three that Alice nearly killed. I could see Mason tense up next to me too. This was bad.

"I definitely know her!" Tom shouted out from the crowd rushing forward.

"You three my office now," I growled out, Alice hid behind me and clung to my arm. I had made a false promise that I would be able to hide her identity. I should have known i wouldn't be able too.

All three of them dropped their heads before slowly making their way to my office.

"Everyone's dismissed, another announcement will be made at later time," I barked out. I could see that the whole crowd flinched. They weren't used to me acting so harsh. I wasn't prepared to let anything happen to my mate though. She's mine!

---

"She's the black wolf isn't she!" Jack hissed as soon as the door closed behind me. Alice cowered behind me trying to hide as I sat down behind my desk.

"What's your point?" Mason growled out.

"She nearly killed us!" James growled. "You was there Mason!"

"Don't forget what happened with Rosie either!" Tom bit out.

"That was a challenge!" Alice suddenly quipped out in defence. Her brow was furrowed in annoyance and her purple eyes had a glow in them that showed a certain defiance.

"Alice isn't wrong, Rosie challenged her for the Luna position and then Alistair betrayed her if you remember, hence why I'm your Alpha now," I growled whilst narrowing my eyes.

I could see that they were grinding their teeth as they recalled the events of that day. They knew I was right.

"We attacked her too," Mason pointed out to them, "it was my fault you guys were injured. She was defending herself."

Their facial features began to soften at their realisation of their mistakes.

"She's still a black wolf though, aren't they dangerous?" Tom asked whilst staring at Alice.

"I don't bite.. much," Alice smirked. I chuckled at this. "The vampires have no control over me, they never have.."

"What do you mean control?" Mason questioned.

Alice took in a deep breath before replying, "They believe they have rights to us as some sort of pets or tools, think its linked to someone called Endymion." I could see she was gritting her teeth at the past part.

"Pets?" I raised my eyebrows to this.

"Candide had me like a pet, like a dog, I can shift now but he wouldn't let me, we had silver collars on that I'm now immune too at touch but it still has a strong effect in my blood stream, its how they usually control us," she explained. "At least I think so, it seemed different for my Uncle. So could be different for each wolf."

"Sounds awful," Mason muttered. I let out a low growl and pulled her onto my lap.

"Did he ever touch you?" I asked nervously.

"No," she replied quite bluntly. Her head turned away to look to the floor as she spoke. Was she lying? I decided not to push the matter. Before pushing my face into her neck and taking in her sweet scent.

"Well you're safe now," I mumbled into her ear.
