Flashback and comic planning

A month ago (To be continued)

A real deal comic book has many elements which are needed to be concerned. And I spent some time ruminating on prospects of my comic venture. Character design, story writing, plotting, layout, paneling, penciling, inking, coloring, binding, publishing, distributing, advertising, and all the comic quirkiness.

I have a passing knowledge of most of them but I did have some parts I excelled on right now. So I have to purchase relevant talent from system and read books to increase my knowledge and experience levels.

Given my art experience, the parts about artwork and color designation are something I'm confident about right now. If there is any omissions in this, I can fill and improve it.

Penciling is what I usually do when making impactful drawings. The advanced stuff such as inking and coloring is also something that I can definitely do if I put my efforts into it.

It is just that I have been limited by the unavailability of essential tools and workspace while school is still going on. As for the story, the sequencing of plots, and the designing of characters, I have them in my mind. Making storylines and issues of notable and still yet- to- be- made comic titles is worth digging my efforts into.
comic books as I remember are meant to have grandstanding and extensive story arcs, one-shots, and reboots.

Based on my powerful memory and perfect recall, I can interlink comic and character continuities in a span of one sitting despite my other ongoing studies and plans though I need to manage my time well. Still, it will a challenge worth taking as it can help gauge what magnitude of productivity I can accomplish right now.

As for layouts and paneling, it is something I have come across many times in previous life when I opened a comic issue but never really paid attention at that time.

I have the general idea of which panel comes first and which speech bubble to follow by virtue of intuition but it is never really something I learned and there are no books which I have came into contact related to it.

In a sense, I could do single artworks but I still have a lot of work to make them fit together to establish a narrative.

How this page should interact with this page? How this panel should fit the characters and the background? How these collections of drawings should convey action scenes, expressions, and the mood? These are the questions that pop up in my head when I think about these basic yet also complex factors of comic composition.

Many people will say, why don't you just purchase it from shop of the system. In fact I'm going to purchase it from system because I haven't read whole comic book in my last life as I wasn't that hardcover fan but since I want to recreate it, I have to buy it. Anyways, Thanks to ROB you can purchase with low prices. But there are three reasons why I'm making extra efforts. Firstly because I want to learn these aspects of comic making and composition. Secondly because when you purchase from shop eg. Comics, it provides all information in the brain directly. There is no such thing as hardcover copy suddenly appearing in front of me or in system space ( which I didn't have Until now btw). But these informations are complete and are in orderly manner for me to recall and access but they are not like digital copy of comic book. So these things are important.

As for bindings, it is a process even more esoteric than the previously mentioned. I know how comic books are filled and printed but not much on how they are put together.

I at least know that staplers and bits of magazine magic are used but that is something that I would leave to true blue comic- making professionals.

Publishing is also another important aspect that I have to navigate with. What paper type and dimensions I use are within this consideration. Matters about the Comics Code Authority, getting around them, and how to conform to them.

This factor also takes into account how and what should be considered in making the content. Publishers wouldn't publish works that would bring backlash and lawsuits.

That is of course if you are the publisher and you could dictate how things go.

However, backlash and lawsuits are still on the table. Easily triggered parents out for blood on comics that brainwash their children into committing violence and sin. I remember from my previous life that These groups could cancel an episode of He-man just lifting a tree because they felt like it would bring a negative influence on their children.

I didn't know whether they were really doing it for a cause or doing it just for kicks. Their sense of entitlement is something that creators need to take note of with every work they publish.

Lawsuits are also another troublesome thing to dig deep on. The comic book industry has so many similarities and parallels that everyone willing enough could sue someone they think is copying their work.

I'm attesting that I'm a blatant plagiarizer but they don't know it and No such work is produced or being produced in this world. However, the foreboding sense that someone would leech into my 'work' and sue me is strangely existent.

Distribution and advertisements are factors that go hand in hand and are also something that I should take note of. Newsstands and comic shops are the ones that come to my mind but how the comics get there is an industry I need to know even deeper.

Whether I can distribute to the locality, nationwide, or globally depends on who I works with or if I am willing to step into that aspect myself.

Advertisements are just advertisements but I am sure that they are essential for my work to spread and be noticed.

These factors are much more on the business side and I could just ask help from my grandpa, dad and uncle Mitchell to make it work.

The added factor of merchandise such as toys and licensing peripherals should be enough to incentivize the business-savvy old man to teach and help me.

Animation shows and live-action adaptations are also something that the humbly complex comic books can jump themselves into.

Sunday came around and the long hours to himself was perfect for me to have a lighter environment to work on.

Me: ' system, I want to purchase the Dragon Ball z comic book from shop. '

System: ' Ding! Comic Dragon Ball Z will cost you 2000 points. Does host confirms transaction? '

Me: ' Yes, system proceed with the transaction.'

System: ' Ding! Purchase completed. Please recieve it. '

After that, Information about it appeared in my mind.
