5. Why Me? by shinymewgirl

As the first Pokemon fanfic I ever read on Wattpad, this book set high standards for a naïve 10 year old. After the complexity of the book and the characters I fell in love with, it's no surprise this book I read 3 years ago has stuck with me. Honestly, I think my favorite part of the story was when Emma's dark self became one of her Pokemon. Night became my favorite character; I love her so much 😍😍.

4. Why You? by shinymewgirl

Of course after reading the first book I was ecstatic to find a sequel. Of course, I got more of Night and, as Emma's powers developed more and more, I grew more interested in the book. And as we dive deeper into the origins of the 3 voices, the resulting climax was spectacular, and I honestly couldn't get enough.

3. Losing Hope by ShinyPonyta

This book was one of the few that had no problem telling a story through limited words. I for one thought it was beautifully crafted. The idea of a safe haven for abandoned Pokémon was something that pulled me in. Then, when Virizion was captured and they had to move to try and find a new home, Sparky had to push through for her friends, eventually leading to her evolution. Overall, I really loved this story and the tale it told in under 8,000 words.

2. Nights Without Arceus by Sheare

I honestly don't know where to begin. Sheare's stories are so vivid I sometimes felt like I was living in the story. And the concept of Arceus not only being able to die, but legendaries battling it out to become his reincarnation threw me through a complete loop. Now I'm going to sound really bad for saying this, but I like how the main character died at the end, instead of the usual happily ever after crap. It added the, "This is the real world, and, in the real world, bad things happen to good people," element. For me, that really made this book deserve second place in my top five.

1. Blue Lightning by PikaChick

This book deserves first place, and everyone needs to read it. I was shocked with the way this universe worked, only being able to train and capture a certain type, training in a prestigious academy. It all drew me in. Then when they were attacked and Jirachi and the Legend Sphere were stolen, Claire, Yvonne, and Felix set off to go find it and the students who took it. I won't say any more in case you haven't read it yet because it's a truly spectacular book that you need to experience first hand.
