Fate of the Leaves

During the start of September,
It is the beginning of the end for Summer,
And by the twenty-first,
It is finally replaced by Autumn,
Or as we commonly call it: Fall.

A beautiful, breath-taking change occurs;
This is especial with the leaves,
The leaves that decorate a tree;
Since their birth,
They resided on their branches,
But now, it's time for their change.

Time for their next stage,
Time to move on,
Time to move out of their comfort zones,
Time for them to graduate.

Off on their own path,
The leaves shift from their uniform green;
They become many colors,
Some just one color
While others a hybrid.

The leaves are assorted colors:
Yellow, orange, and red,
Each bound to fall from the trees,
And serve their final purpose
By decorating the ground.

What a wonder on the ground,
Complete with everyone
That sees the beauty,
For the engineers within them awaken.

Their innovative side
Drives them to grab their rakes
For use in building the leaves
Into structures of their desire.

This here is the meaning of Autumn,
A lighter meaning,
A contrast to viewing it
As the beginning of when
The light is stripped away.
