Secret Power

I read a poem,
Not just read,
But really read,
Only to be blown away
By the power it evokes.

I repeated the process over and over
Just to harness the power,
Only to be blown away
Further each time.

I wanted this power myself,
I wanted to steal this power,
I wanted to use it on others,
I wanted to bend everyone to my will.

Stealing it wasn't the answer,
For attempting it always repelled me,
Sent me several miles away,
So I relinquished that desire.

I realized I didn't have to steal
To have the same poetic power
Because it lied within me all along.

By coming to that realization,
I tapped into my inner power,
Produced poems worthy for the world.

I may had scratched the surface,
But my progress was remarkable.
