Hot in My Room

Summer,
The warmest of seasons,
Even with the thinnest layer of clothing,
The heat is the bane of my existence.

This is the season of outdoors,
But I find myself locked up in my room
With the air-conditioner blowing at my face.

This heat is the most horrible
Thing invented by nature,
And mankind is making it worse
By pumping greenhouse gases into the air.

Did I say I have an air-conditioner
Blowing at my face?
Actually, it's more than that:
I have the shades down,
I have an open freezer next to me,
I have ice packs taped on my body,
I have ice cream being shoved down my throat,
I even have the house's cooling system activated
Because my personal fan isn't enough.

You'd think it's like winter in my room,
But it's quite the opposite;
It is still flaming hot in my room
While I wish to rid myself of this suffering.
