Facing Solitude

You say you'll never have friends,
Even fated for solitude,
A possibility you're distasteful about.

Look around you and pay close attention
To the people who play their roles
As main characters in your story,
And tell me again what you're destined for.

What you claim you'll never have,
You already have resting on your fingertips,
So what are you distasteful about?

You harbor a bad attitude
About solitude when
You are an individual
Who can use a lot of alone time.

Now, say that solitude's not as bad
As you make it out to be,
And if you smile, it's true.

You say you have fabulous friends,
Whenever you are alone,
You retain a sense of belonging,
For you know what to be happy about.
