Lua's POV:

Melione had taken me to what was apparently 'the best bakery in the entire world', her eyes gleaming a shade of purple as she guided me to where it was, but that euphoria slightly deflated when she saw the long line of fae also waiting at that bakery shop.

"If we wait, we'll be late. If we don't wait, she won't be able to try the most scrumptious things ever," she mumbled to herself, but then a look of determination fell on her face, and she looked at me; her eyes twinkling slightly.

"What?" I said, slightly scared of what was clocking in her mind.

"I know the shadows bow to you," she said, and I was taken aback. Where was she getting all this information from?

"How do you know that?"

She lifted her hand and I watched in pure shock as her fingers began to melt away into the darkness. So she had the ability to turn to a shadow too, did that mean that the shadows also bowed to her?

"Do the shadows just bow to everyone?" I said, my mind still processing that there were others like me.

She shook her head, "It's a common ability to be able to enter and leave the shadows. However the shadows choose who they wish to serve,"

I nodded, perhaps that's why she was could sneak up on people without them noticing, she was literally concealed by the shadows. I nodded, taking the information in. I didn't know completely how I could blend into the shadows, but it was never something I really wanted to know. I was just grateful I had it.

I looked back at the bakery, then at her, a small grin forming as I realised what she was thinking.

We nodded at each other and in a second we were gone from the normal reality and entered the world of darkness and obscurity. The shadows whispered and hummed around us, but we were already racing towards the shop.

"We're not stealing, by the way," I said to Melione, whose eyes were fixed on the pastries, sitting there on their shelf; looking freshly baked and steaming scents of sugars and cinnamon.

She glanced at me side-on, "I would never think of committing such a sin!" but her voice dripped with sarcasm. Her hands began moving quickly, slipping a bag into the shadows and beginning to sneakily pile up on the pastries, making sure to do it when no one had their eyes on them.

It was interesting to see her fingers work, moving in a blur and still managing to do and hold more with that speed. I rummaged through my pocket and took out half of what was owed, giving it to the spy who added it to her half. She slid the money close to one of the workers and we left before anymore suspicion arose.

We pulled out a pastry and began munching on it. I almost moaned in delight, as the different layers melted like butter in my mouth, a plethora of flavours mixed with some sweetness.

I left some of my pastries for the others and Melione left one of hers, maybe she wanted one for later.

She guided me into an alleyway and continued when we reached the end of the path. She looked towards the exit and when she noted no one was there, she pressed her hand onto a brick on the graffitied wall. I watched as a ladder slid down from nowhere, appearing from midair, and sliding down to our feet. Swiftly, she began climbing up and I quickly followed. I looked up to where the ladder ended and was confused as to what she was going to do, it was just an empty wall, how-
