Chapter 16

"Where are my hair ties?"

Nari entered the bathroom and found K some of the other boys attempting to straighten their hair. "Here," Jay replied, handing her one. She put her hair up in a ponytail before giggling at K as he struggled.

"Would you like help?"
"You're too excited, you'll burn me."

She narrowed her eyes at him, leaving the bathroom and running towards Daniel. "Daniel 어떻게? I'm so nervous I feel like I'm gonna explode!" He laughed a bit, returning her hug as she pouted in his arms.

"What if I really do faint though? What if-"
"They're here!" Sunoo yelled, cutting her off.

"Oh god." She turned to Daniel with wide eyes.

The twelve headed downstairs and saw none other than Dino, The8, Hoshi and Jun of Seventeen in their practice room. They quickly entered, bowing as they did so before lining up by the mirror. Nari gripped Sunoo's hand in hers tightly, still trying to comprehend the sight before her.

"We should introduce ourselves. Say the name! Hello we are Seventeen!"

The trainees clapped, and Sunoo giggled a bit as he noticed Nari's face was a burning red. "Have you guys seen each other's performances yet?" Hoshi asked.

"No, not yet," Jungwon replied.

"That'll make it even more fun! Let's have the HIT team go first!"

"Why are they so good?" Nari quietly whined to Sunoo as the Seventeen members complimented the team. The8 even specifically pointed out Niki's charisma, and Nari couldn't help but wonder if the boy didn't understand that he was being praised since he didn't react much.

"Let's see the Pretty U team!"

The other team noticed how red Nari was, and couldn't help but laugh. Seventeen seemed to notice too, as Hoshi couldn't help but giggle and address the flushed girl.

"Nari, 괜찮아?"
"M-me?"

The boys laughed as Nari's eyes seemed to bug out of her head, astonished that he had spoken to her. "I-I'm fine, thank you," she replied, taking her starting place with beet red cheeks.

During the chorus especially, Nari couldn't help but have a large grin. The song was so wholesome and sweet, and it made it easy for her to smile on stage. At the last chorus when she was center, she was surprised when instead of doing the bunny-ear pose, the boys instead pointed to her during the words, "You are pretty."

Flashback:

"We should do something to take advantage of the fact that we have a girl for this concept," Sunoo suggested as Nari momentarily left the room.

"What if Noona did a pose at the end?" Daniel offered.

Sunghoon shook his head in disagreement. "If we give her a solo pose, chances are when she has to do it in front of Seventeen she'll get too shy."

"We should point to her during the last part!" Taki excitedly suggested. "We say, 'You are pretty' and point to Noona!"

The boys quickly agreed to go with that idea, and kept it as a sweet little surprise for the performance.
