"Amanda, it's nice to meet you," I shake her hand firmly, showing her my respect. The Lucianos are a powerful family, and her husband is one of the best product movers. Another pro to doing business with them, Ilya will be beyond pissed.

The enemy of my enemy, is my greatest friend.

They've been at war for a while, which means I can use this to my advantage. Another threat had been made on my life, and normally I wouldn't care. I would even be flattered, but a threat was also posed on Ruth's life. That doesn't sit well with me. A threat is to her, is much worse than a threat to me, in-fact, a threat to her, is a threat to me.

"Orion, pleasure to put a face behind the name."

The Lucianos and I have never done business, but my reputation precedes me. The Ghost. "Yes, it's been a long time coming. There haven't been many woman in my place, or any at all," I smile as I offer her a seat in my office, she accepts it, and sits.

For an hour, we talk. Mostly about business, my business. She wants to know more about my work, and how I managed to keep my identity a secret for all these years. A criminal mastermind never reveals secrets, but I let a few slip for her. I need this alliance one way, or another. Her husband is dangerous, meticulous, and would do anything for her. If I impress her, he'll agree to do anything.

"I'm surprised Marko didn't show up himself," I take a sip of my Margarita, "But I'm glad he didn't. Talking to you has been quite the treat," I cringe internally at that comment, but continue to butter her up. Girls like her love attention, validation. Amanda is the it girl. The beauty in this world. The crime world, but not my world. My beauty is a pain in the ass, has blonde hair, and pink plump lips.

Amanda turns heads when she walks. A woman who came from nothing, and a woman, who made a dangerous man fall in love with her. Don't get me wrong, she isn't special. This story has been told dozens of times before, but what's so different about her,  is that she's so gullible, and stupid.

Beautiful, but a fucking idiot.

I'm quite disappointed in Marko Luciano. He's also stupid, and gullible. They deserve to be together forever. Only a stupid man could wife a woman who only wants him for his money, and power. Amanda doesn't love him, but he'd die a hundred times over for her, the same way I'd risk my life for Ruth. Why? I'm not sure. I'm not in love with her.

I don't even know what that means, but I value her. Unlike Amanda, Ruth isn't needy. I offer her millions of dollars to marry me, and she insists on giving it to her boss, a woman who's going to die any day now, and her cousin. I don't get it, she's so pure, innocent, and perfect. Someone who doesn't ask for much, even when she should. She deserves the world, and yet here I am, taking it from her.
