I Don't Use Dialogue... Again

Percy could've sworn he'd been walking for five days.

Seriously, walking in a dark tunnel-cavern really messed up a guy's sense of time. Everything looked the same, and everything felt the same. Percy felt he'd been stuck in a circle and couldn't get out. In a way, this quest he was on was never ending. He might discover one thing, but another two would show up to contradict what he thought he knew.

Percy sighed. There wasn't much he could do but keep going. And there was always a chance that he should have chosen the brown cavern instead of the green-blue one. Maybe he should try going backwards...

Percy rammed into a wall.

Ow. Percy thought, rubbing his head. Where did that wall come from?

Percy grimaced. Another bruise as a souvenir from his time down here.

Was the goal even worth it?

Percy sank against the wall. All he could tell about this endeavor was that it tested patience. He understood a little more about why there was a turtle guarding the knowledge. Those guys are patient little things.

But Percy's predicament also brought the other detail the turtle told him to life. The turtle had told Percy that even if the rainbow turtle believed him worthy, the cavern might decide otherwise. Maybe the cavern couldn't decide what to do with him. Maybe that's why he thought he was going in circles.

But maybe he'd already failed.

Percy shook his head and stood up. Even if he had failed, which Percy doubted (he had a feeling he would be dead if he failed), it's not like he could backtrack. The only thing he could do was move forward; and he intended to do that until he could no longer.

Percy set his face into a determined look.

He was going to keep going no matter what.

Hermione had been researching nonstop to find a way to contact Percy. Harry and Ron thought she'd have found something by now. Even if it was that they couldn't contact him.

They didn't expect Hermione to not even know a single way of talking to him. How could they? The Hermione they knew was unstoppable when it came to research. It normally only took a day or two. It had been a week since the picture was taken. Who knew what had happened to Percy?

The easiest thing Hermione knew they could do was travel to China, and while Ron loved their food, he did not want to travel that far.

Harry was beginning to think that nothing could ever be found to help Percy. So much had happened at Hogwarts. No more Occlumency lessons, no more Fred and George, no more DA Club because it had been compromised. Percy had missed so much when he left. No one knew what was going on, and Dumbledore was worried.

The very thing that led Dumbledore to get Percy Jackson in the first place was the fact that he was Voldemort's grandson. That Voldemort would stop at nothing to get him.

But that was before Percy had been in his clutches once. Before Percy escaped after insulting him. Before Percy had made sure Voldemort knew he wasn't part of the Death Eaters.

Before George made Percy go off the deep end.

For all anyone knew, Percy had been meeting with Voldemort to find out more about the weapon. Or maybe Percy was the weapon.

Maybe Percy was trying to find out more about both sides of this war. Maybe he was trying to find out more about his heritage. Maybe Percy was trying to find out how to kill Voldemort.

Maybe Percy just really liked Chinese food.

The point is that no one knew what Percy was doing, and everyone was scared it would be against them.

How easy would it be for anyone to use him? How powerful could that make one side of the war? Could the war end this year because of Percy? Would it go on longer?

Percy Jackson is a wild card, Harry thought, and no one can control a wild card.

Percy groaned.

He really wished he didn't keep going.

Hey guys. Sorry the update's late and that I didn't update last time. I'm at a serious block, something that shows when I don't use dialogue. I've learned that about myself.

But y'all needed an update so I can only hope this will suffice.

Also, holy crap, I am seventy followers away from 1,000.

WHAT THE HADES? WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN??????????????

Love you guys!
