CHAPTER 17

Who's My Date

It's been a week since I woke up from the shot. I've been attending school and now we are going to take the academic tests. My brothers got back to their own business. Soul is different after my brothers' visit. I felt like he was avoiding me but somehow I kept seeing him everywhere I went.

Nasa iisang classroom lang kami nila Auee at Renzo. Lahat ng kaklase ko ay seryoso sa pagsagot. Klarong-klaro sa mga butil ng pawis na lumalabas mula sa mga noo nila. I've been homeschooled so I know these things and I already answered them. Hinhintay ko nalang na tumunog ang bell.

Tumingin ako sa labas ng bintana. Kaharap ng classroom naming ang classroom nila Soul. Magkaiba ang building namin pero hindi naman gaano kalayo kaya nakikita ko siya mula rito. He was serious taking his exams too. I wonder why he's been avoiding me and I wonder why I wonder.

When the bell rang I got up immediately and passed my answer sheet to the prof. I'm meeting someone. Mabilisan akong nagbihis sa panlakad at inilagay ang card pati narin ang susi sa sasakyan ni Ark. Napangisi ako, mahal talaga ako ng mga kapatid ko.

"Woah, going somewhere?" tanong ni Cello na nakasalubong ko habang pababa ako. Kasama niya si Soul at si Rage. Ramdam ko ang matalim na tingin sa akin ni Soul habang naninibago naman ang dalawa. I stopped and answered his question.

"Yah, I'll be right back." Derederetso akong bumaba papunta sa parking lot at nagdrive papunta sa pupuntahan ko.

Pagkarating ko doon ay nakatayo lang ang taong kikitain ko. Looks like I'm late for 5 minutes. She smiled at me but I know she's very mad at me right now for being late.

"You made me stand here for 10 minutes! You a*shole!" she yelled.

Napangiwi ako sa inasta niya. Kay gandang babae. Nakaporma at mukhang anghel pero ang wagas kung makasigaw. "An angel from hell." Napailing kong sabi at lumapit sa kanya. Kahit galit siya ay niyakap niya parin ako.

"Namiss kita, gaga!" and yes, she cuss a lot. Sabay kaming naglakad patungo sa sasakyan. I drove off to the mall. I knew she would be shopping for some stuff since I can't see her luggages.

"Naks! Bumawi agad eh! You're the best!" napairap nalang ako. kung hindi lang talaga 'to girlfriend ni Ark at kung hindi ko lang siya bestfriend baka pinasalvage ko na siya. Don't get her started talking on how she end up with my stupid brother.

"Alam mo 'tong kapatid mo? Napakagago! Inuuna niya pa rounds niya kesa pagsundo sa akin. Isa pa 'tong si Anc napakasungit-inaway ba naman yung babaeng inereto ko sa kanya!" wala akong magawa kung hindi ang tumango nalang. For Ark, he's probably rushing by now. I bet my life if I'm right about him showing up with his coat on. Anc is not that good at socializing people. He based all of the people he met by their first meeting. It's either he likes them or not, if not then he would act so rude in front of them.

"Teka nga! Nabanggit sa akin ni Ark na nakilala mo na yung fiancé mo-oh anong balita? Gwapo ba? Mabait? Gago? Halika ipasalvage natin!" I sighed. I knew nothing will stop her from talking. She let her hair down and fixed her bangs. She was wearing a vintage champagne silk dress that has thin straps and just right above her knee with matching heels. Not those high heels but those comfy ones.

"Ano ba yang suot mo? Mukhang pantulog." Komento ko. Napaismid naman siya.

"Ansabe mo? Uso 'to no! Plus I look hot in everything I wear." Depensa niya. Well I can't agree more. On the other hand, I'm wearing a velvet black turtleneck dress just right above my knee. It's a tight dress and I wore a pair of my favorite white chunky shoes with white socks. Also I'm wearing my favorite watch and a fashion necklace to suit my dress.

When we arrived at the mall, dumeretso kaagad kami sa mga clothing boutique para bumili ng mga damit na gusto niya. She spent a lot but not like before. I noticed how she changed a bit. She became more cautious and more mature now. Unlike before she's that "mean-brat-girl" who buys everything in pink and glitters.

"Oh tapos ka na?" tanong ko. Tumango naman siya sa akin. Now we only have to wait for my dear brother to fetch this girl. We got inside a restaurant and we ordered some food.

"Exact 5 andito na 'yon." Pahayag niya. Tumango naman ako. I decided to check my phone and saw a lot of missed calls and text messages. Naka-silent kasi phone ko since I'm not expecting anyone to message me. A minute passed and the same caller who called me appeared on my screen. Habang nagsasalita si Savannah I motioned her to lower her voice and she did shut up. I answered the phone and with just a line it made me shiver. He sounded so pissed.

"Go home. Now."
