[A/N] Hi~

Originally this was supposed to be a Christmas Special story, but I've just got caught up in so many things (funerals/COVID/papers) so this one has been a WIP for a while. However, I just started to pick it up again. Hope you don't mind the "Christmas" vibe around it!

Also no, this isn't a lemon/lime :')

Happy reading~

Y/N's POV

I sat by the crackling fireplace, sipping on my mug of hot cocoa as I lazily watched the snow fall outside. Christmas was soon nearing, and here I was, sitting solemnly alone. I was in my last year of my graduate school, and I would be receiving my Master's degree this coming spring.

I traced circles on the window with my finger, thinking about a time where I wasn't as lonely as I was now. My eyes drifted back to the cup of hot cocoa in my hands, and slowly, I lifted it up to my lips again to take a sip.

As I did so, I reminisced about the time where I was still in high school, living with my family and hanging out with my friends almost every weekend. A small yet visible smile crept up on my lips, and I set the cup of coca down on a coaster.

I got up from my chair and walked over to a small bookshelf in my living room. My fingers touched every book spine before settling on one: a photo album that contained all of my precious memories.

Carefully lifting the cover, I flipped through the pages, reliving each and every memory.

"Kokichi! Come back here so I can kick your ass!" I shouted, completely flustered by what the underclassmen had said about Kaede. "How dare you accuse her of such a thing! She would never!"

"But that's Kayayday's lie, isn't it?" He yelled back in a mocking tone as he got farther and farther away from me.

"I HOPE KIRUMI SHOVES A BROOM HANDLE UP YOUR A--"

"Y/N!" Maki scowled, clapping a hand over my mouth before I could finish my remark. "Do you want to die?"

"Geez, Maki." I let out a huff, illustrating my annoyance and frustration. "Must you always emit such a deadly aura? You're killing any form of vegetation within a five foot radius."

She crossed her arms, a small red blush dusted across her cheeks. "You, out of all people, know that it's not my intention. Think of it as a resting bitch face but just not with my face."

I gave her a strained smile before replying, "I wouldn't necessarily call it a resting bitch face. I'd just call it a bitch, which is what you are."

Almost immediately, I took off running like Kokichi did, laughing my head off. Maki, after a moment of processing, realized the words that came from my mouth.

"Y/N!" She growled, sprinting at an insane speed. "Now you've really done it!"

I grinned at the memory. It's been a while since I've heard from Maki, but last I checked, she was engaged. She was still around my age--she was 23, and I was 24. She got engaged so soon but insisted that there is no one else she can tolerate.

But honestly, I think that's just an excuse. It's quite obvious that she has fallen head over heels for this guy.

Then, my eyes glanced at one photo that stood out. There I was, fifteen years old hugging a small boy. The small boy was Shuichi, someone who I used to babysit until he turned ten. This was the last photo I had of us--it was our farewell picture.
