"It is true that those we meet can change us, sometimes so profoundly that we are not the same afterwards, even unto our names." — Life Of Pi, 2012

"HURRY up," Beta Blade grunted at me, yanking me

"HURRY up," Beta Blade grunted at me, yanking me.

I rolled my eyes. We were back to this again. Do none of these people value common decency? Do they do this to every single person they meet?

"I'm not some dog. I have legs — I can walk like a normal person." I muttered, nearly tripping over my own feet again

We had made it to the packhouse. This was where most of the pack wolves stayed. The only people who didn't were werewolves who had found their mates and wanted to start a family somewhere quiet.

It was a gigantic house that could easily be mistaken as a hotel to any mortals.

People were littered around the grounds. The kids were playing in the large park they had whilst moms were sitting on picnic blankets, enjoying a cold drink. A few people, in a formal uniform, were gardening.

The whole area seemed so serene and happy.

That all changed when they caught a whiff of my scent. The women tensed and fixed a hostile expression on their faces. A few even growled at me.

Warriors who were patrolling the grounds stared at me with a mixture of lust and anger. I knew I still looked like I had been run over by a dumpster truck.

Blade pulled me inside, away from their prying eyes and along a long and windy corridor. Everything about the house screamed aristocratic. Expensive antiques were dotted everywhere whilst numerous paintings hung on the walls.

We came to an abrupt stop at the end of the corridor. Blade tapped on the wooden door and waited for the person on the other side to let him in.

The husky voice that could only belong to the Alpha ordered us inside.
