I was fairly certain Alpha Gabriel had been avoiding me like the plague.
A week had passed by since my last encounter with him — where I trotted off with my head held high after giving him a speech. Since then, I barely saw him.
He was always in pack meetings or training. It seemed the rogue problem at Alpha ... pack was causing problems for this pack too. Alpha Gabriel had lent some of his warriors to them and a spy was sent out to report back what was happening at Delta-Moon.
Sabrina was busy constantly. She was spending some much-needed time with her grandparents.
This gave me the opportunity to read more of the book.
Everything I discovered about Diana and Torin was horrifying. It seemed my family kept so many secrets.
I flicked through a few entries, all dated at staggered times. My eyes landed on one entry a year later, where it said they were living in the human realm. I gasped in shock and turned back a page to the last entry.
Dear reader,
We have escaped. We are free.
Prince Payton helped us and brought us back to our homeland.
Everything feels different now though. Diana has nightmares often and is worried we will be captured again. I am always on guard. During the full moon, we both transform into wolves.
We can never go back home anymore. Diana says we can make a new home here.
She wants to move on. I do too but I am wary.

The next entry describes an event where Diana accidentally bit a human. The bite made them transform into a wolf. Realizing they could build a pack to protect themselves, they offered to bite willing humans who wanted a different life.
