A week after the incident, I finally mustered the courage to approach Sabrina.

The walk towards her house was full of anticipation and nervousness. My heart was beating erratically in my chest, threatening to burst out at any moment.

Her small and quant house came into view. It had lost its original charm, now becoming a dreary and solemn place. The loss of Gomez's presence was evident here.

As I stepped up to the door, I faltered.

I knew Sabrina was in her house — she hadn't left it since the funeral. She had people who came to visit and try to coax her out of her house. It never worked. She refused to leave her sanctuary. The real world was too difficult for her right now.

Taking in a deep breath, I raised my arm up and knocked on her door sharply.

Footsteps on the other end of the door sounded, her feet stomping over to me. When she swung the door open, I softened my gaze.

"Hey," I greeted, trying not to seem unsure or anxious.

Her hazel eyes examined me from head to toe whilst her upper lip curled upwards.

"What are you doing here, Liberty?" She asked, her voice cold and detached. Internally, I winced. She sounded nothing like the happy and bubbly Sabrina who befriended me immediately. A pang of sadness shot through my heart, knowing there was nothing I could really do to help her.

"I'm here to see you of course. Can I come in?" My voice wavered at her hard stare,  my throat becoming dry.

Sabrina didn't say anything. She shuffled to the side, allowing me to enter her home. It was just as I remembered it but without warmth.
