"I see that you are still stuck on the fact that I rejected your stupid crush in the past " he said making me turn around to see him with a smirk plastered on his face.
"No, I am just making sure that I don't make a stupid mistake again in my life that involves you " I replied walking towards him.
"You are scared blue".
"Why would I be scared of you?"
"Because if you marry me,  I'm going to make your life a living hell" he replied closing the distance between us.
"Oh, sorry to break your fantasy, but I'm already living in one, but I would love to see you try sweetie" saying that I patted his left cheek and turned to leave.
"Marry me, because I would love to see you survive." he said in a serious tone.
Well two can play the game asshole and I'll make sure you regret marrying me.
"I accept".

I exit his office and make my way towards the elevator, I press the button and enter when it comes.Pulling out my phone, I dialed my parents, and my mother answered. Her voice carried a mix of anticipation and worry as she said, "Audrey, how did the meeting go?"With a deep breath, I replied, "I've made a decision, Mom. I'll marry Asher."There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line, and then my mother's voice filled with relief and joy. "Oh, Addy, that's wonderful news! Your father will be thrilled."

As I hung up the phone, the decision had been made, and the weight of it settled on my shoulders. As I stood in the parking area I couldn't help but question my own motives and the circumstances that had led to this moment. Why had I chosen to marry Asher, a man I had spent years resenting and avoiding? The pressure from my family and the impending loss of the investment in my fashion line had been powerful motivators, but I couldn't shake the feeling that I had compromised my own desires and dreams.

In the midst of my frustration and confusion, I couldn't help but stomp my foot in exasperation. But just as I released that burst of frustration, I heard a throat clearing nearby. My heart jumped, and I turned to find Asher standing there with a smirk on his face. His amused expression contrasted with my own vexation, and I couldn't help but feel a mix of irritation and embarrassment.

"Having second thoughts blue?" He inquired with a smug smile. Argh, how I wish I could wipe that smugness off his face. With a mixture of vulnerability and apprehension, I finally replied, "It's a big decision, Carter, and it's only natural to have doubts. But I've made my choice." He nodded his head in acknowledgment.

In a moment of unease, I couldn't help but ask, "Are you following me, Carter?"
With a slight smile, Asher replied, "I'm not following you, Blue. This is my company, after all. I was just heading out for a meeting".Asher's explanation left me both perplexed and slightly flustered. I climbed in my car without looking back and drove towards my company.

I reached my company and called Lily to my office and explained her everything about the meeting.Lily listened intently, her eyes filled with a mixture of concern and support. When I finished sharing, she took a deep breath and began to offer her perspective."Addy, I understand the pressure you're under, but you can't forget about your own happiness in all of this," Lily began, her tone both caring and earnest.

Overwhelmed with distress and the weight of the decision I had made, I felt tears welling up in my eyes. Lily, always attuned to my emotions, wrapped her arms around me in a warm and comforting embrace. "It's going to be alright, Addy," she reassured me, her voice filled with empathy and support.

Lily and I decided to go for our "forgiveness lunch" as a way to rebuild our connection. It was a much-needed break from the complexities of my personal life, and our shared laughter and conversation helped lift my spirits. After our lunch, I returned to my office and delved into work with my fashion team. We reviewed a few designs for the upcoming fashion week, a project that brought excitement and creativity to my day.

When the workday came to an end, I headed home, feeling a sense of accomplishment and relief. When I returned home after a long and emotionally charged day, my parents were waiting for me. As soon as I walked through the door, my mother enveloped me in a tight and loving hug. Their relief and joy were palpable as they celebrated my agreement to the marriage with Asher.

My dad's eyes softened with a sense of pride and emotion. He leaned in, gently hugged me, and pressed a tender kiss to my forehead."I'm proud of you, Addy," he whispered, his voice filled with love and support. Sophia embraced me warmly and said, "Congratulations, Addy. We're here for you"

As I knelt down to take my nephew, Evan, into my arms, his little face beamed with happiness. He wrapped his tiny arms around me and planted a sweet kiss on my cheek. In his adorable, baby talk, he attempted to say "congrats," but it came out as an endearing, garbled version of the word.

Christian, however  remained silent, throughout the entire exchange, his expression unreadable, but I couldn't shake the feeling that he was harboring a secret about this marriage.

After a day filled with emotional conversations and complex decisions, I retreated to the solace of my evening routine. Dinner was a quiet and contemplative affair as I mulled over the events of the day.As the night deepened, I left my family to retire to my bedroom.
