The sky was dark, filled with black clouds that, oddly enough, spewed forth more than just occasional bolts of lightning. The dusty sands that lined all view towards the farthest horizon, ravaged by a scene of chaotic elements, whose storms could devour any living man. There weren't many who didn't know of these sands, but those who do would be sure to remember its name.

The Tempest Dunes, a perilous zone within the Southern Wastelands, one directly between the three territories, be it the Revolutionary Lands, the Redlands, or even the detestable Black Dunes.

Rumor has it that these very sands are home to a sea of buried treasures, once a land of riches transformed into a hell-like nightmare followed a shocking event many, many years ago.

A loud sneeze sounded within a sea of clustering sands as a few vaguely visible forms slowly trotted forward, maneuvering through the sea of dust and chaos.

A few plumes of blazing flames, earth spikes, and lighting bolts rushed out from an unexpected angle, but as if it wasn't worth mentioning, the group easily avoided it by using skillful techniques.

One chopped apart the flares with a single swing of their swords, causing the cry of its edge to resound for a short while; others dodged narrowly as they decimated the remnant energies with palms attacks or even a flick of their wrists.

One would have thought this to be the last of all dangers, but an even more dangerous scene occurred when the previous hazard had ended.

With a series of 'swishing' sounds, a few small darts with an icy glowing tip flew towards this party in a flash, following a few similar noises from all angles. Carefully looking at the direction they came from, one would notice a few silhouettes that held small bamboo shoots at their mouths.

As if that wasn't bad enough, before the darts could arrive, a few more silhouettes appeared from above, each striking out their palms and fists as they released a series of devastating energy attacks towards the unsuspecting party.

"Hahaha, the bounty is ours! Kill them all!" A vile-looking figure said with a menacing set of eyes, his blade in his arm cut down as he descended with another party.

In this instance, all seemed as if it ended for the assaulted group. Yet, oddly enough, if one looked at their expressions, they would notice that the group showed neither fear nor anxiousness, carrying a calm look as if being suddenly attack was a regular occurrence.

"Ah darn, all this sand is starting to get really annoying. Tsk, not to mention those stray elemental energies, we have to keep on fending off all these assassins on our ass; which number is it this time?" Lang Kuang cursed as he wiped the sand away from his runny nose while squinting one of his eyes. He then waved his hand, causing a silvery-white aura to deflect the needles and energy attacks in his direct vicinity.

"Kang'er, quit acting like a spoiled child," Tuzi Baoli reprimanded from his side; she also made a few light movements, easily avoiding the attacks that targeted her.

"As noisy as always," Miren Fei muttered as she stared at Lang Kuang from a distance. Her palms were the color of jade as she casually patted away her obstacles.

"What was that?" Lang Kuang snapped back as his ears twitched, showing that he heard her words. It seemed that despite the scene of danger, he felt more angered at Miren Fei's retort.

With a snort, Miren Fei didn't even pay him any mind. Her eyes glanced towards Feng Yu's direction, but soon notice that he walked alongside Dai Lin with a pondering look on his face.

Miren Fei felt that he looked even more handsome today, causing her face to turn a bit red, but as she bit her lips, suppressing her feelings, a sharp look came into her eyes as she thought to herself.
