After Hagrid had come and ushered everyone away and took the girl, whose name I learned was Katie Bell, my friends and I walked back to Hogwarts. My friends went to dinner in the Great Hall and since I wasn't all that hungry I decided to just go outside and get some fresh air. The more I learned about Draco the more of a mystery he becomes and it's started to really hurt my head. I walked out and heard two people arguing. I would have kept walking if I hadn't recognized the voices. I walked around a few trees and finally saw the two people arguing were Draco and Harry.

"I know it was you that did that to Katie." Harry hissed.

Draco rolled his eyes, looking bored. "You're mad. And how are you so sure that it was me?"

"Come on, when are you ever not the cause of people's pain?"

Draco sighed dramatically. "Really, Potter, that's all you got? You have nothing against me."

"Yet you aren't denying it, which means it was you."

"You can't prove anything without evidence" I cut in.

Draco and Harry both looked at me surprised. After a second though Draco smirked at me and I rolled my eyes.

"So do you have any evidence?" I asked Harry.

"Well, no, but-"

"If you have no evidence that I think we're done here. You're only trying to get Draco into trouble since you two are sworn enemies or some crap. You would really be doing everyone a favor if you just didn't base everything on a hunch."

Harry looked at me astonished. "Why-"

"Have nice night, Potter. We're done here." I interrupted.

Harry looked between Draco and me before giving up and leaving. I was about to walk away too when Draco stepped in front of me.

"Did you call me by my first name?" Draco asked.

I thought about it and realized that I had and not noticed. "Maybe, why does it matter?"

Draco shrugged, a smirk on his lips. "Oh, it doesn't. But one quick question, why did you defend me? I could have taken care of Potter myself."

"He had no right to accuse you of something when he had no evidence to support the claim."

"Do you think I did it?" Draco asked.

"I don't know what to think anymore. You're just becoming more and more of a mystery."

"You do think it was me" Draco laughed. "And yet you still defended me despite it. If I didn't know better I would think that you're actually warming up to me."

I rolled my eyes, a small blush becoming visible on my cheeks. "Think what you want, Malfoy."

"Oh, I'm thinking of a lot of things now. I think you're becoming a bigger mystery."

I rolled my eyes. "I'm an open book."

"Are you? So you would confess that you're in love with me?"

My breath caught in my breath and I stared up at Draco in astonishment. "Excuse me?"

"You heard me." Draco said, wrapping his arms around my waist.

I was in too much shock to say anything let alone push him off of me. When I didn't push him off Draco smirked.

"No matter what you hear about me or what you learn you're always around. Doesn't my reputation scare you? How I'm the bad guy, the troublemaker, the person everyone's afraid of? How I'm always with another girl and how those relationships only last a week, depending how they are in bed? Don't you care that if you become attached to me that you'll end up with a broken heart?"

"I-I" I took a deep breath. "How are you so sure that I'm in love with you?"

"By a few ways." Draco's hands trailed up at down my arms. "One, you always get nervous when I'm close to you." Draco pressed his body to mine and as if on cue, my heart rate sped up. "You can't think straight when my lips are close to yours." As he said that he brought his lips down so they were hovering over mine. "How your heart rate speeds up and you don't push me away. Even on the carriage, you didn't know me and yet you didn't push me away. With me this close to you, you don't have the self-resistance to push me away." His hands trailed over my whole body and I felt paralyzed. "If I'm wrong, then show me."

Draco brought his lips to mine and kissed me. My body heated up and I felt like I was on cloud nine. His hands gripped my hips and pulled me closer to him and I kissed him back. I don't know what came over me but all that he said was true and I can't lie to myself that I've wanted to kiss him for a while now. It started to rain and it took a while for us to finally notice and pull away. We were both breathing heavily and Draco was staring at me with a mix of emotions-amazement, awe, shock and guilt. When I saw the slight guilt in his eyes I felt stupid to think that Draco could actually like me, I don't think he's ever liked a girl for anything other than her body. Plus I promised myself I wouldn't get mixed into this mess and here I am after I had just kissed the guy I used to despise like some kind of animal.

"Uh, I-"

I interrupted Draco before he could make a fool out of me, since I already knew I was one. "Now I don't owe you a kiss."

Draco looked confused. "What?"

"I owed you a kiss and now I don't owe you that anymore. That's why I didn't push you away."

"Uh-"

"It's raining and I'd like to go inside now. I'll see you in class tomorrow."

Before Draco could say anything back I was already fast walking into the school, not knowing the difference between the rain droplets and my tears.
