Favour ( Benny X reader)

Part 16

*y/n's pov*

I leave the sandlot and make my way home. Im not too sure why benny had such a bad attitude earlier. But then I remember what squints said 'he's just annoyed your going with Philips and not him'. What does he mean by that? Benny's going with Britney so why would he care if I'm going with someone else. I don't want to think about this anymore so I go downstairs and watch tv.

I'm still watching tv when yeah-yeah comes through the door. I look over and smile at him. He smiles back before going upstairs. Before I look away, I notice Benny walking past. It's pretty dark out but there's enough light for me to know it's him. I shoot out of my seat and rush outside. He stops walking and notices me leaving my house. I make my way over to him. He's looking down at the ground

"What did squints mean earlier?" I ask. He almost instantly looks up at me, knowing exactly what I'm talking about.

"I don't know." He says.

"Benny" I say softly "talk to me"

He stays quiet. I'm about to repeat myself when he stops me.

"What are we y/n?" He asks.

I sigh. "Honestly, I don't know." I say. I really don't know and I don't want to lie to him.

"I guess we're friends" I say with uncertainty.

"Cmon y/n, we can't be just friends." He says "I don't feel this way towards any of my friends, only you."

"Benny..." I'm lost for words. This feels so right yet so wrong.

"You can't do this to Britney" I say after a while. "And I said yes to Philips and it would be rude to ditch him, but that doesn't mean I like him."

Benny's slowly moves his eyes back to the ground, regret is all over his face. I don't want him to regret telling me that. I extend my arms out and wrap them around his neck. He snakes his arms round my waist and rests his head on my shoulder.

"I'm glad you told me Benny." I say. He doesn't say anything but I hear him sigh in relief.

After a while I slowly loosen my grip and take a small step back. I look up at him.

"I should be heading inside before my parents wonder where I went but we'll talk soon." I give him a comforting smile as I slowly take small steps back in the direction of my house. He nods and returns the smile. I head back inside as he makes his way over to his house.

I'm sorry this chapter is so short. I had already published it but it somehow deleted most of it so I had to rewrite it and I couldn't remember everything I had already written. I'll make sure the next chapter is longer!
