The sun shined brightly, a rare warm day in Veniko and perfect for a graduation. Their cap and gowns were black with dark green accents, the school's colors. The class of 2022 had been through a lot, losing three (Kane had been assumed dead after months of being missing) students in less than one school year. The valedictorian had given a heartwarming speech, and the school paid tribute to Sawyer, Sophie, and Kane. Evan's eyes had watered, but he kept his head up, knowing he'd avenged his friend and that Sawyer was in a better place now.

Midnight had been among the first few who had crossed the stage, shook hands with the principal, and gotten his diploma. The entire Alexavier family couldn't be there, for obvious reasons, but most were there along with Jedrek, who wore the biggest grin on his face, pride sparkling in his gray eyes as he watched his son walk the stage. Jedrek had been the loudest, shouting and cheering like a madman, rivaling Evan's cheering. The goth rolled his eyes at them yet had a minute smile on his face nonetheless. Many didn't know what had happened to him or why he'd been gone from school for so long, and they still didn't. Midnight had asked the principal and the teachers to keep everything quiet about his accident.

Nova had gone before Midnight, and the cheer from the crowd had been momentous, as expected from the famous cheerleader. However, when it was finally Evan's turn. he was given a standing ovation by the entire class, his friends, Midnight, and even some of his pack members (Cowen, Kabira, Hannibal, and Romero had attended with Zoraida, of course) had howled as he walked across the stage, shaking hands with teachers, counselors, and administrators. His teammates pounded their feet on the floor and hollered obnoxiously. Evan grinned and held the diploma in the air, the crowd going wild before he walked off to take his seat. In the end, they took a final stand before going off to see their family and friends. Evan snuck toward the end of the crowd, where there weren't so many eyes lingering on him or the tall werewolves who'd come to see his graduation. His height already got him more attention than he wanted, Hannibal and Romero alone would have them all gasping and on the verge of fainting, considering they were both nearly eight feet tall and covered head to toe in tattoos. There was a small patch of trees where the pack chose to dwell after the official ceremony and could stay out of the unforgiving heat. Evan felt like he was going through the first phase of his transformation and bathing in his own sweat. The others weren't faring so well either. Werewolves weren't meant for the warm weather.
